DHS CARS LAND

I couldn't agree more. In my opinion, both The Hulk and Dragon Challenge should be removed for actual themed experiences.
Aw, don't say that! IOA wouldn't be the same with out Hulk and Dragon Challenge, easily two of the most visually stunning and fun to watch coasters out there! (Well, Dragon Challenge was more fun to watch when it actually dueled...)

there is one in disney sea...easy clone however it appears to require more space than the current jones show area.

No, there is one in DLP and it is the most boring Disney rollercoaster ever built, with very careless theming, a typical cheap, watered down compromise after they scrapped the projected Indiana Jones Jungle Ride. The attraction in TDS is an EMV ride, like IJA in DL.

i believe they have both the indoor ride and also the temple run....go on disneysea and look to the right of the indoor ride.

No, DisneySea has both.

You sure have high hopes for a 5th gate. You bring it up often. It doesn't take away from the fact that if they were to actually build a 5th gate - they would still have to make the other parks better than they are. Each park would have to be a "must do, cannot miss" park. The last few years, DHS' attendance has already dropped, dropping to 4th place at WDW. It clearly needs work. If a 5th gate were added, people would not be adding more days to their vacation at WDW, they would be cutting out one of the "half-day" parks....

The only way for WDW to avoid this would be to have attractions in each park that guests will not want to miss out on each visit. DHS and DAK both fall short there...

Well, they don't *have* to do anything, and just keep letting DHS pull in about 10 million guests a year. Obviously, if a fifth gate opened, DHS would lose some business, as would the other parks, but as a whole, it would boost WDW capacity and number of visitors. Sure, they'll probably do something to bring in the crowds to DHS, but the issue isn't as urgent as some folks here would let you believe.

So, I would disagree, that a fifth gate would somehow completely cannibalize attendance so that more guests didn't visit.

AK and DHS are very close in attendance, they often switch spots the past four years, last year, DHS 9.69 million, AK 9.78 million.

It's not easier to build on unused land, meaning in a new park/fifth gate, it is far more expensive because you need new infrastructure, new cast members, new everything for the new park. It is far cheaper to fit it into an existing park, even if it means to move buildings, clear areas etc. That's why it makes absolutely no sense at all to build a fifth park in WDW in the next 15+ X years.

Not really.

Constructing inside of DHS while it is operational, removing 1/3 - 1/4 of the park completely . . . down to the dirt, would be more expensive than constructing in an area where guests aren't. With Carsland, the utilities would have to be moved as RS has a fixed geometry.

Carsland at DCA was built on "nothing" as a parking lot was removed to build it.

The plot near the TTC is close to hotels/utilities, and would be cheaper to build it there than in DHS.

I would say at this time, Carsland at DHS is not going to happen.

Jimmy Thick- Was this even a creditable rumor?

It never really was going to happen inside of DHS. It would be many dozens time cheaper to build Carsland elsewhere, and to upgrade DHS by adding smaller attractions, if possible. Remember, the official expansion policy for DHS put out by Reedy Creek is that expansion/redevelopment inside DHS is not being looked at. The only possible expansion would be across World Drive, or possibly expanding into DHS's parking lot and using parking garages. The later would be cheaper than moving World Drive. Folks want to pretend that DHS doesn't get about 10 million guests a year, the same as AK.

When planning for Carsland at DCA was happening, DCA was a failure, not getting even close to 10 million guests a year. DHS is making $ for WDW. They aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot and shutdown 1/4 of the park and attractions for three years.

I know that they constructed in DCA . . . but all that was lost was a parking lot and a strip mall called Sunshine Plaza. Look at Paradise Pier, even very cheap stuff is left in place rather than being torn out.

A fifth gate would obviously increase capacity, but it's by no means a sure thing that it would increase number of visitors, at least not over the long run. A lot of people already consider DHS and Animal Kingdom 1/2 day parks. Expanding those parks to keep people in them longer, or get people to come to them more often is a much more economical option as well as less risky.

Ugh ... no fifth gate (unless Disney wants to do some sort of centrally located in America hybrid Hero Park [Marvel/SW/Indy/Tron] in Texas!!) ... but seriously no fifth gate ... totally unnecessary. They can't even keep up with the four they have, why build a fifth they can neglect?

Restore EPCOT to some semblance of it's former glory, make DHS and DAK true full day parks, and then let's talk.

Or how about Disney just builds the fifth park at TTC, and each of the remaining parks get E-Tickets? WDW makes tons of money and everybody wins.

What is your source for that statement? A lot of very reliable insiders here have said otherwise, so I am curious if you have more reliable sources inside Disney.
