Oh, I am referring to the Burbank hat, but that's as interesting. :lookarounThe Paris hat? March 2002. Looks even better now with the placemaking.

Here's what I heard about the hat. I heard the contract for the Chinese theatre was up and they didn't wanna renew their contract. So for it to stay it could not be the landmark so Disney had to construct something to block the theatre, the birth of BAH. Now this could be complete bull but it's what I heard
Why, what was it originally? The Paris hat? March 2002. Looks even better now with the placemaking.
Please, make it stop?:lookaroun:lol:It's "The EpcotServo Syndrome". Even the stuff I hate, I understand at it's base level enough to appreciate it.
A hat on the corner of a boring concrete building. Now it is part of a series of buildings and backdrops to give New York Street a run for its money. Why, what was it originally?
Should I search for pics, or do you have me covered, Martin?:lol:A hat on the corner of a boring concrete building. Now it is part of a series of buildings and backdrops to give New York Street a run for its money.
Oooh....Much sleeker than ours. I like.Shockingly, I only have video of the before and after. Here you can see `after` - with new colours and part of the Sunset Blvd placemaking at the left edge:

here`s the full Blvd as a composite:
That`s the beauty of it - it has its own street, so does look just a part of the wider picture. When seen from other angles it does looks like the massive building that it is. It adds a further layer of depth to the placemaking. Plus, this design has the bulk of the show building in front of the tower as opposed to behind it like in Orlando, making the whole building more `stepped` in appearence and thus the actual tower appear further away. Seen from the rear (you can walk around it in WDSP) you get a sense of just how big the thing is. To save this thread going totoally off topic I`ve also found the hat and placemaking photo I thought I didn`t take:That Tower has such a weird spot...It looks like it's trying to peak above the buildings, not tower above them.
