DHS aka MGM Studios 20 years of photographic memories!

Anyways, I was imagining seeing myself (or at least the scene) of it on TV. A few weeks after our trip they were running a promotion and advertising Hercules and WDW. They showed a 2 second clip of a zoomed in shot of Hercules on the top of a large float.. not even a shot of a crowd or anything else. That's when I realized they probably didn't even have film in those cameras - and most of that was part of the "show."

I also remember the NYC streets having actors walking around. I remember seeing "street thugs" carrying a parking meter over their shoulder, a cop with a banana in his gun holster, and other random people. I seem to recall this being a night time street party where they played music and the characters danced, etc. It was a lot of fun and it drew a lot of people to the back of the park. For having all of that area, they don't really do much with it anymore.. events wise. Or maybe just not during my trips?

There do lots of character meet and greets there, and "Mulch, Sweat, & Sheers" play back there, they're pretty good.

The first two above we "opened the park." We did that on our last trip at DHS in '07 we opened the park as well.

Gonna comment on a few things here:

1: Those spots! I personally never cared for the 101 overlay of Backstage Pass.

2: RNR CARS! That was in the lot next to the Gravity building to celebrate the first anniversary of Coaster.

3: Armageddon! That's a great picture. Not a great film, but a great picture.

5: Muppet Studios! AKA MuppetVision! That is a rare and wonderful photographic find.

Nah... AKA The Great Muppet Movie Ride!

I rode past that hording in June 1990 - by the size of the work site it looked like it was going to be massive. Of course it was.

Going to be.

They should use this as the symbol of the park.
LOVE what they did to the Dedication Plaque. Kept the original, but used the new name on the border. Shame they didn't do the same for EPCOT's, which was TOTALLY killed in 1994....and dold on eBay, last year.:(:fork:

And, I have that button. :D

Did you win the bid?

Also just swap the MGM with DHS then add the Earful Tower in the backround and it would make a perfect new symbol for DHS.
