I miss residential street! Especially at Christmas time! Loved walking through the Osborne lights down there. Thanks for the pics! I had forgotten the Aladdin parade - that was an amazing parade loved it!!!!!

Random, but based on that last picture....

Would anyone like to see a AE II in DHS?:lookaroun

Not really, unless it was based off the Alien Alien it was originally supposed to be about. Or if maybe a new Alien movie were to be a smash hit. The key would be removing the Horror from the AE show. Disney Thrill rides should be thrilling, but never Horrifying.

One of the designers of Tower of Terror said it best, "While the experience is thrilling, we never do any of these rides to focus on horror or fear. Thrilling yes, but we go more for a Thunder storm -Scary looking from afar, and thrilling during, but are also very beautiful and mysterious."

That's the thing...Alien Encounter was a great show, but all the Disney Thrill Rides have Beauty, Mystery, and a sense of grandeur or emotion. Matterhorn, Splash & Space Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure, Expedition Everest, Tower of Terror. Alien Encounter played too much on straight up horror rather than thrill or mystery. That to me is where AE's negative effect on people came from... *

*Note: Yes, I know Alien Encounter was great, please don't kill me because I had problems with it.

It really is a shame, eh? They should have incoporated it into the animation building like they have it in the real studio in Burbank. That's what they did with it in Paris...

Hm. Dare I say it but the whole "symbol" of Disney Movies works a tad better, seeing that that is the case...:lookaroun:lol:

Heck, I still want it gone.

It's "The EpcotServo Syndrome". Even the stuff I hate, I understand at it's base level enough to appreciate it.

Yeah, I can totally back the hat being at the studio -- just not where it is. They designed the park with the Chinese Theater as its castle or SSE, it's the landmark you're supposed to see as you walk down the main street. And then they completely BLOCKED IT. It's a head scratching move and one that's lasted way longer than I think anyone expected it to...

I'm trying to create my own version of the hat on Photoshop (I can't draw good). I've been drawing it in class and it looks really cool. Hopefully, one day, it'll be done and ready to post....

Here's what I heard about the hat. I heard the contract for the Chinese theatre was up and they didn't wanna renew their contract. So for it to stay it could not be the landmark so Disney had to construct something to block the theatre, the birth of BAH. Now this could be complete bull but it's what I heard
