Great photos. Love the old shots of MGM... The park was so cohesive back then.

I think that might have been the initial clearing. Maybe that was the majority of the actual park, but I think the entrance from World Drive over in to the parking area... there is no way that is all.Nice stuff.
Martin- LOVE the construction pic. Is the plot of land that small?
Is it just me... or does that life size version of Doug just creep you out. I would run from this if he approached me in the park.i loved doug.. ahh.. memories!
Great story Meg. Interesting to see a little background of how it influenced your life's path. :wave:This was a fun thread. I've been going to WDW since I was 3 and in the 90's is when I decided that I wanted to be in entertainment because of MGM Studios and Universal Studios. I loved all the behind the scened looks at real productions . MGM was amazing in the 90's. I'm now grown and I'm a performer at WDW as well as a Film major. I do miss the old park very much. I loved all the photos you all posted. I don't remember much of the Soundstage Restaurant but I did get the opportunity to roam around the old Catwalk Bar when I did a dance party shift at Playhouse Disney. Superstar Television gave me the chance of performing next to my Idol, Lucille Ball. The next year it was closed. When I was a trainer at Studios I would take my trainees backstage before Idol moved in and the spinning floors were still in place. I have yet to be all through the backstage sound stages but my bf worked at Millionaire and has said that backstage was full of MMC stuff. Just to think that I'm standing on the MMC stage when in line for Mania is awesome.
I love the Urkel cut out.
