Trip Report Cruising With the 27 Ladies of Leisure!

What:

This is the long anticipated, much ballyhooed, Unofficial WDWMagic girls cruise! Finally! We booked this baby two years ago! Where are the dancing banana smilies when you need them?!

Who:

The ladies of leisure you say? Why yes! This is what our assistant cruise director named us one day at a reception. But with his awesome accent it sounded more like the 27 ladies of leh-zure. Say that with an awesome accent. You can’t stop can you? Neither could I!

Oh wait! Didn’t count Minnie! She was on our cruise! 28 ladies of leh-zure?

When:

Well, the cruise was September 8-12, 2013. Anybody who knows anything knows you can’t come in for a cruise on the day of the cruise! So my trip began on the 7th! A few months ago we found out that the annual Disney conference for Earmarked Agencies was taking place on the 15-19th. Well that was silly to fly home on the 12th just to fly back on the 14th! So I guess my 4 night cruise had just become 12 nights immersed in Disney!

It’s rough. Very rough.

I’ll do a separate report for the WDW stay so this doesn’t become too ginormous. But some of the Ladies of Leh-zure also make an appearance in that one!

LOL, Diane, when I get around to my TR, you'll be featured in it as well; basically, "Diane and I tried to coordinate our morning walks, but always forgot to set a time to meet". Hahahahhaahahahhaha.

Those chocolate desserts are delish! I wish I could get them somewhere else, since I don't really care for the rest of the meal.

I would have loved to join ya'll for dinner, but by the time dinner rolled around I had been to all four parks and had dinner at Earl's with @PartOfYourWorld and @LuvsTheMouse. Maybe next time!

Oh, dinner at Earl's...I envy you. Y'know, Earl of Sandwich is the only place I took my mother and my mother-in-law (together at the same time) that they both enjoyed!! Considering that they both approached it expecting to not like it, that was an accomplishment. Now y'all know why I was so darn happy to travel with all you girls...no drama.

Oh, dinner at Earl's...I envy you. Y'know, Earl of Sandwich is the only place I took my mother and my mother-in-law (together at the same time) that they both enjoyed!! Considering that they both approached it expecting to not like it, that was an accomplishment. Now y'all know why I was so darn happy to travel with all you girls...no drama.

I LOVE Earl's! Sometimes I wish there was one closer to me, but then again I would probably eat there way too much. Maybe it's a good thing that I can only have Earl's at Disney.

It was a very busy day! But it was very fun also. My 3rd time going to all four parks in one day.

I must say, I gave you guys your space in the cabana. I don't think I have any incriminating pictures. What happened there stayed there for me!

Day 2 – Cruise Begins!

Our alarm went off after about 3 ½ hours of sleep, but we got up fairly easily! Too excited to sleep indeed!

We had debated walking to the Poly, taking a cab, taking the monorail, etc. and ultimately decided the monorail would be easiest. So we wheeled all of our luggage over to the main building. The monorail wasn’t even running yet, but we knew it would be in a few minutes.

We weren’t just the only ones in our car, we were the only ones on the whole monorail! The cast member asked where we were headed and we told her we were going on a cruise!! Woo hoo!!

When we got off the monorail, we immediately started seeing ladies with shirts that looked suspiciously like ours. It was so exciting!!!

When we walked up to Kona, we asked to make sure all 22 of us were seated near each other (which wasn’t hard since we were the only ones in the restaurant) and parked our luggage.



We also did a little clapping and singing at the opening:



Breakfast was delicious. The number of people taking pictures of their food (and everything else) was hilarious! A preview of things to come.
