Trip Report Cruising With the 27 Ladies of Leisure!

What:

This is the long anticipated, much ballyhooed, Unofficial WDWMagic girls cruise! Finally! We booked this baby two years ago! Where are the dancing banana smilies when you need them?!

Who:

The ladies of leisure you say? Why yes! This is what our assistant cruise director named us one day at a reception. But with his awesome accent it sounded more like the 27 ladies of leh-zure. Say that with an awesome accent. You can’t stop can you? Neither could I! :D

Here we are –



Oh wait! Didn’t count Minnie! She was on our cruise! 28 ladies of leh-zure?

When:

Well, the cruise was September 8-12, 2013. Anybody who knows anything knows you can’t come in for a cruise on the day of the cruise! So my trip began on the 7th! A few months ago we found out that the annual Disney conference for Earmarked Agencies was taking place on the 15-19th. Well that was silly to fly home on the 12th just to fly back on the 14th! So I guess my 4 night cruise had just become 12 nights immersed in Disney!

It’s rough. Very rough.

I’ll do a separate report for the WDW stay so this doesn’t become too ginormous. But some of the Ladies of Leh-zure also make an appearance in that one! :)

Some of the ladies wanted to stop at a liquor store on the way to stock up before boarding. Kelly reminded me that it was a Sunday morning, so I checked with Angel (from Garden Tours and Transfers) beforehand to make sure he knew of a liquor store open on Sunday mornings. He said he did!


I also googled and found one in Port Canaveral just in case, and there was one.


We pulled up and started to pile out when we realized the one we had stopped at was definitely NOT open on Sunday mornings!!


Oy!


Missy got our her smartphone, googled and re-found the store I had seen. Yay Missy!


We probably wasted less than 10 minutes on this detour, but it was quite funny (scary?) being in this giant limo and trailer pulling out onto this small road. We were quite a sight!


When we arrived at the OPEN liquor store, everyone piled out and Missy and I jumped back in to take pictures. Limo!

The ride was over before we knew it and we were here! Yay!

And somehow that’s all the pictures I took before boarding! Lol! We boarded within a few minutes so we didn’t have time to get in line for characters.

While we were waiting for our number to be called, we met @stalkingmickey! Hi StalkingMickey! J Even more WDWMagic-ers were onboard! We met more members later in the week. I’m sure we were hard to miss. :)

We were all in the first few boarding numbers, so we spread the word for everyone to meet at Enchanted Garden for lunch if they wanted.

The most stressful moment of the day was right now. Trying to pick a good name for them to announce us! Why didn’t we decide beforehand?!

I think we went with Dream Girls. Very creative. Or not.

We oohed and ahhed appropriately at the atrium and went downstairs to Enchanted Garden.

Which was – closed.

Wha??

Apparently it wasn’t opening until noon! Well that was a new one.

So we got back on the elevator and went up. I stopped in the atrium to catch the last group of girls and tell them the change of plans.

We went up top and several girls peeled off and took pictures of the empty pool deck. Good idea ladies! I should have done the same.

I found everyone that was already inside and we sat down for our first meal onboard!

Now that everyone knew where to go, it was time for the reception! Yay!


We went to our new location in Meridian which is between Palo and Remy. There’s also a deck outside where most of us started. Here’s my coke!

After our up close and personal Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom show, we finished unpacking. We were planning on meeting upstairs for the big sail away. Missy was talking to her hubby on Facetime who was watching the portcam. He said, “Hey, ya’ll are moving!”


We said, “No we’re not, it’s too early.”


Then we realized he was right!


Ack! We were going to miss it!


We ran upstairs to our meeting place on deck 11! Only then I realized it was really deck 12!! Shoot! I told everyone the wrong deck! I was thinking of the classic ships!:banghead:


Luckily everyone made it, some by the skin of their teeth.


We waved and laughed and held up the amazing banner @Tiggerish brought for us. Thank you so much to @englanddg, @Zortek and everyone else who took screenshots of us and made videos!

I just had enough time to instagram before we lost service. While we were standing there we were getting texts from Englanddg telling us he got us and the camera hung with us for a while. :) I also got on WDWMagic and saw the thread where people were posting our picture and telling us goodbye!

That was so cool. Seriously, so cool.

We didn’t go to the show that night, so I decided it was a good time to pass out Fish Extender gifts. Missy, Christina and Kelly came with and delivered theirs too.

Missy and I went up top to get a snack when we were done and the light was gorgeous! I was cursing myself for not having my camera!

Then we swam! First we went for a ride on the Aquaduck actually. I will not be posting a picture of that. :)

While we were in the hot tub @DisneyDebNJ came over and introduced herself. Another WDWMagic'er! And she brought me a gift! How nice was that! She said it was a thank you gift and I didn’t do a single thing for her! Too nice. :)

We chatted with her for a few minutes then went to get ready for dinner.

Our stateroom host, whom we met earlier, opened our verandahs for us! One ginormous verandah.

Loving this TR - I feel like I'm still there! Loved the dolphins! We saw them, too with but my little point & shoot I couldn't get any pictures good enough to really see them.
