Such a good line! A crime to cut it.Buff - He’s a regular Li-bear-ace!

Dee: I remember you! You're Dingbat Duck!Well during the final night for the original CBJ the CMs in the lobby had to call him Romeo already. During the breakdown and the CMs were trying to keep the guest entertained with CBJ trivia when she asked about "who's the bear with the huge lips?" and people were shouting "Liver Lips" she had to say that it was Romeo now.
What makes you not think they haven't already..Those Imagineers are pretty crafty...
I must say, beyond its history, Liver Lips is kind of off-putting as a name! I'm rather scrub the idea of thinking of anyone's lips as being like liver out of my mind than hang onto that name for this character.Well during the final night for the original CBJ the CMs in the lobby had to call him Romeo already. Agreed. Walt Disney Imagineers and the Muppets both really understood “irreverent family entertainment” - I remember trying to explain the Citizens of Hollywood to friends and I called it “family friendly shock comedy”Such a good line! A crime to cut it.
Is there a possibility of previews? Asking since I will be there in a little over a week, and the 17th is the day I leave... hoping to maybe have a chance at a preview.Disney may chose not to reveal the playlist until the day it opens for previews, or only a few days in advance.
That's a perfectly ordinary choice for an entertainment company to make. E.g. sometime we get the full soundtrack to a theatrical movie before it's released, and sometimes we don't.
No news now is not a sign of... anything really.
Anything is possible! Hope you get lucky. Is there a possibility of previews? Asking since I will be there in a little over a week, and the 17th is the day I leave... hoping to maybe have a chance at a preview.
Ha! I had a dream that it opened and they had replaced every single animatronic with screens. We might be spending too much time on these forums lolI had this really strange dream the other night that they introduced ads for the Disney + & Hulu bundle on a projector screen between songs & the whole thing was a complete dumpster fire
That’s it, had to share it here because it left me with a real bizarre feeling the next morning
Yes, the Muppets in their prime is a good analogy. Lines like the Li-bear-ace one in classic Disney attractions had a special gift of catching you off guard, which The Muppets were also great at.Agreed. I bet its just a quick montage of them and not the full song.Willing to place my bets on the returning songs being:
- Bear Band Serenade
- Blood on the Saddle
- Come Again
That has been my chief concern, are these songs ‘returning’ like we all hope or are they being squished into a medley of classic CBJ to be played at the end of the show?I bet its just a quick montage of them and not the full song.
Were any of them full songs before? Blood on the Saddle feels long to me because (unlike my children) I don’t enjoy it— but I would be genuinely surprised if many of the songs were longer than 1-2 minutes during the pre-closure version.I bet its just a quick montage of them and not the full song.
No, most of them were condensed versions of preexisting songs which maintained only a verse and a chorus. Most were probably right around a minute in length, some maybe even less. The only ‘long’ song I can think of was Bear Band Serenade when you count the original piano intro. Trixie’s song seemed on the slightly longer side as well as Ernest’s (mainly because of the fiddle intro), but none of the bears were singing two and a half minute country songs ripped straight from albumsWere any of them full songs before? That is consistent with my memory. The average song length in Tokyo for Vacation Hoedown is noticeably longer… I just can’t see how much more they could truncate at lot of the existing songs. No, most of them were condensed versions of preexisting songs which maintained only a verse and a chorus. I'll reiterate that I think that song is on its way out of the parks going forward. Yes the show only ever contained the first and third verses, which had nothing that could offend anyone. But it's the association with the other lyrics that would put it under the radar.Davy Crockett is a Disney IP though and the raccoon is pretty iconic
In eighteen thirteen the Creeks uprose,
Addin' redskin arrows to the country's woes
Now, Injun fightin' is somethin' he knows,
So he shoulders his rifle an' off he goes
Davy, Davy Crockett, the man who don't know fear
Off through the woods he's a marchin' along,
Makin' up yarns an' a singin' a song
Itchin' fer fightin' an' rightin' a wrong,
He's ringy as a b'ar an' twic't as strong
Davy, Davy Crockett, the buckskin buccaneer
He fought single-handed through the Injun War,
Till the Creeks was whipped an' peace was in store
An' while he was handlin' this risky chore,
Made hisself a legend for evermore
Davy, Davy Crockett, king of the wild frontier
He give his word an' he give his hand,
That his Injun friends could keep their land
An' the rest of his life he took the stand,
That justice was due every redskin band
Davy, Davy Crockett, holdin' his promise dear
Those two classic American songs you noted don't contain any racially insensitive words and descriptions of violent battles waged against indigenous people as a part of the lyrics. You would have to get into a deeper philosophical discussion to dissect ill intent. The Battle Hymn in fact is an abolitionist song that had a distinctly progressive message for its time.Literally everything at the Magic Kingdom could be cancelled if the desire was there. Some people have issue with the National anthem and the battle hymn of the republic.
Now that doesn’t mean you are wrong - but looking up obscure verses to Davy Crockett doesn’t seem like an automatic cancel.
I could see them maybe including "The Great Outdoors" since it was on the Sing-Along home videos. I would be ecstatic if "Ghost Riders in the Sky" or "Thank God I'm a Country Bear" were featured in any capacity!Any rumors about including some of the modern classics (if I do say so myself) from the Vacation Hoedown?
