Oh... wait.... :lookaroun

Does this even exist anymore? I agree that Disney should sell it, or something with similar packaging, in the parks. I mean they put Mickey's face on milk cartons.

Hooter has no place in Disney after those Drug charges!

Snorting "Music" I'm sure!
:rolleyes:

Oh sure, let's just bring Hooter into this! :rolleyes: I mean REALLY people, can we not appreciate an alien puppet for who he was to the entertainment industry?

Next you'll be bashing Alf.

I've said it once in this thread, I'll say it again. Yes, it exists. They sell it at my local Harvey's. :wave:

Because the old dated parade is actually very good, and the old dated 3D show is not very good.

And this opinion (which I agree with 100%, btw) is a great example of why pandering to nostalgia does nothing for WDW in the long run.

HISTA is old, tired and not that good. The answer is a NEW attraction.

MSEP is old, tired (very slightly refreshed as it is very disenguous for Disney to say it features three new units when it in fact has only one) and still pretty damn good. But the better answer would be a NEW parade. Like an UPDATED (since it is almost a decade old now) Dreamlights from TDL.

Recycling is a very good thing except when it's magic ...:)

I kind of get the feeling this was just as much a present to the DL APers as was a tribute to Jackson. All signs show this as being a very limited run.

It was a money-grab by TDA. They know their audience.

But as to it being a limited run, a Disney spokesperson was quoted in one of local papers (either LA Times or OC Register) as saying EO was there for 'an indefinite period' ... to me, that means they're going to milk this for all its worth ... until the merchandise sits and winds up at the AMS liquidation outlets and until attraction count resembles HISTA.

Otherwise, they'd have simply said 'EO will run until say August 1st ...

I don't think any ammount of merch sales or attendance will bring it to EPCOT.

let us hope ...

that's why when the orange bird flew over to see why I was eating a dole whip earlier this month, it sympathized with me, because the birdy would only eat snacks with real florida oranges (citrus swirl) not citrus swirl 2.0 with minute maid concentrate :brick:

I have never seen a sad Orange Bird.

They always have that freakish, happy, cute leer...into your soul.:lookaroun

The question is not "does Captain EO suck?" It sucks. It sucked when I was 11. And 25 years isn't going to somehow make it better. Hell, "Howard the Duck" was more entertaining.

The question is which sucks more, Captain EO or the Disney Dining Plan?

Here's part of a review on the EO premiere from Mouse Planet:

The restored show is different than the version which appeared in Disneyland from 1986-1997. While the theater boasts a new 70mm print of the film, some of the special effects were not replicated in the Tribute version. Gone is the magnificent fiber optic star field that once flanked the screen, along with the in-theater laser and smoke effects. New "4D" effects, including a shaking floor and bursts of air, were added to the Tribute version, made possible by of the equipment originally installed for Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, which replaced Captain EO in 1998.

After the show, some fans raced immediately to get back in line for another viewing, some went to do some souvenir shopping, and others left to get to work or school. After the initial crowds dispersed, the line for Captain EO remained between 20 and 40 minutes most of Tuesday afternoon. Captain EO Tribute is now open daily, with performances several times each hour. Disneyland has not said how long this "Limited Engagement" will last, but most expect the attraction to remain at least through the summer.

Ok, so I had to YouTube it for a refresher.
It still sucks.

To be fair, I do think HISTA sucks worse. HISTA is not only dated, but just a bad show and storyline. AND scary to little kids. Being very small and having very large things come flying out at you does not a happy 3-5 year old make.

At least EO had some theatrical and production quality. But still, don't need to bring it back.

NEW please...

A shrine to a Paedophile does not belong at Disney, the physical manifestation of childhood and innocence itself.
:fork::fork::fork:

If you really think Captain EO is a shrine to pedophilia, you really, really, really should think before you speak. This is no way a "shrine to pedophilia". You saying that it is does not make it so. You think Captain EO is sick because you want to. Did MJ touch that kid? ( I dunno, I never payed attention to it) But who cares, this is a celebration of his work on Captain EO, not his private life. Seriously, if you think it's that bad and is part of something horrible, just don't watch it.

That's easy. The DDP.
