Complained About New Parking Fees

You know what, the lack of air con was indeed discussed, and the reasons for it given. And then later confirmed by a cable car engineer, no less. And we know he is because we can read his blog and see his credentials.

If you didn’t bother to read the start of the thread, that’s your problem. Clearly you didn’t or you’d know when the whole thing was pieced together (2 Years, really?). But no need to make out that it was never discussed. The reason it wasn’t continued to be discussed is because the mods actually got tired of the constant bickering and banned it.

So your offended by the question?

Thanks for straightening it out. Let’s see how this thing plays....

The people coming off a 10 minute ride in brutal heat are gonna LOVE it.

This reminds me of a lesson I received on my first ever Disney trip. It's called the Disney Salute.
Steps:
1) Stand and smile
2) Reach towards back pocket with hand
3) extract wallet
4) extend wallet to finish salute.
I love WDW but they are experts at separating me from my money.
lol my late husband use to say that Disney is the place that you go to that turns you upside down, shakes all your money off of you and you say "when can we do it again"

What question?

Not offended. Just wanted to point out that actually the issue was debated, discussed. You claimed it wasn’t.

By the way, I was surprised at first too, but the explanations made sense. And if I was still in any doubt, I rode one of the few systems to have a/c (Emirates line in London). Guess what, it wasn't working, just like 80% of the time. Whatever they paid extra to have it was a total waste of money.

But yes, let’s see how it plays out. :)

I didn’t say it wasn’t discussed on a 100 page thread...what I said was asking the question of why/why not/how something is going to be done beyond the vague snippets your gods feed you is often attacked in principle...discussion is the enemy.

I can read 1,000,000 posts and the idea to not provide AC somehow in the central Florida climate will not make sense. This isn’t 1955 and people are SOFFFF.

I understand the difficulty in cooling...though this AINT London...and here’s the most reasonable conclusion: Disney is making a mistake.

So that’s why we’ll have to see it play. My bet is that it plays as a mistake...or there is something about the design that nobody here has a clue about...because why would they, realistically speaking?

(Not talking about engineers...by the way...technical opinions are always welcome)

If you tell a Disney fan that up is down, they will tell you the reverse. Complain and it's actually your fault. In fact, they would rather complain about your legitimate questions/critiques/complaints than offer anything else.

In sum, welcome to attack-land.

lol, naw I don't think so. I do admit (and I always admit) that I am constantly baffled about some of the complainers. Mainly because vacations imo are supposed to be places we pick to get away from the frustrating parts of life.
I can't do alot about certain things, health care cost, cost of my kids college tuition, rising cost of food especially butter (I'm an amateur baker)lol. but vacations I can totally control the value of my dollar.
So it's not that I say it's the complainers fault but if all one has is complaints about ANY vacation spot and then turn around and tell me they are going to give that spot MORE of their hard earned dough,
Well I admit, I'm baffled.

I also always admit, I have zero emotional attachment to the Mickey's kingdom, it's a place I have a great time at. the nanosecond I stop feeling it's worth my money, is the nano second I stop going and I darn sure wouldn't be dropping thousands of bucks if I thought all the rides were "b" tickets rides (that's the dull ones right).

I also admit that I really don't think public out cry for the most part sways big companies. As we have heard when you write to disney you get a canned response but I do admire folks that do think it does make a difference.

I'm a cynical NY'er, companies change when things start hitting their pocketbooks.

I definitely hope people don't take it as an attack when I say, "stop going". It's not meant to belittle anyone's opinion, it's more to say you want the shareholders to take notice? You want the powers to be to hear you, lol, watch what would happen if their dividends started dropping due to lower revenue.

Just me, I do not have any insights into the mouseworld and I don't even portray an insider in real life.

I know it’s not London. But if it doesn’t work in London, or only works 20% of the time, why would it suddenly work in Orlando? The technology isn’t there yet for it to be reliable. But @liftblog has explained passive cooling and the pictures of the cabins confirm it.

The question is: will “passive cooling” have any prayer to keep up in that climate?

I hope so...or the zeal to add transport to justify price increases may be the biggest mistake in WDW history.

Yeah, thats the whole point. They don't want people to drive. They want you on their transportation, in their bubble.
I might even simply use there transportation and not rent a car, but given their pathetic transportation system sucks hours from your vacation each day as you wait in line for a bus... well sorry but I'll just say no to their transportation.

ridiculous treatment of the op...
essentially asking if anyone had actually said something instead of just complaining about it online and paying anyway was met with a resounding 'why bother?'

we're talking about a company with a history of scraping for every inch combined with a fandom seemingly willing to give away feet
- how on earth does 'pay it or don't go' lead to anything productive at all?

silence is acceptance, and, in most cases, encouragement of poor behavior

yes, twdc is a business focused on money, but why is it that so many fans appear to forget whose money?

I agree with most of your statement, but, I think the Pay it or don't go is exactly what needs to happen unless, of course, you pay it and then don't go... but, that would be foolish. Not going is the same as withholding funds to any business and that is the point. Not going can by the mere act of not giving them any money is exactly what will be needed to produce anything productive. Reality speaking... the fan (cult base) is so strong that this will never happen so even discussing it is a colossal waste of time. But again, participating on a discussion board with people you wouldn't know if they walked up and bit you, is also, generally, only for the purpose of wasting time.

I say good for the OP. If people think that this is not a good thing (I agree) then they should say something. If not, then the company will not know what it is that was done badly to turn the consumer off. I also agree that people have to talk with their money as well, but if the consumer just leaves and doesnt say why, the company may not know what caused it and so cannot change it. Marie

I dislike the parking fee (IMO a cash grab) if you still like going to WDW 1. voice your objection via email tell them you will spend less in the parks 2. if you stay on site voice your objection upon checkin 3. adjust your spending -- less spending in the parks, less souvenirs. Since your driving bring your own food cut back meals to one in the park or drive off site. As a consumer to certain degree you can compensate for WDW cash grab/industry standard
