Complained About New Parking Fees

Yeah, thats the whole point. They don't want people to drive. They want you on their transportation, in their bubble.

That was the same argument everytime they raised a hotel price since the 90’s buildout...and ever ticket price increase or modification to the park hopper program...it was also a reason thrown around with the dining plan.

But none are more than peripherally accurate.

I suspect that if that happens "every time they raised prices" every once in awhile it will be correct. This is one of them.

There may be discussion, but there shouldn’t be! :banghead: They cannot charge us for parking. Thanks to timeshare laws in Florida I believe. So unless Disney is going to try and lobby for a change in the law, it won’t happen.
Hi Nicky, Sorry I meant discussion on here not at Disney regarding this. I hope that the parking issue doesn't hit DVC, that would not be cute. I have several friends who own DVC and they would be far less than pleased if that happened. Marie

Converting the poly is a big warning sign...the poly is beloved and if they casually took a couple of hindered rooms out - instead of adding a DVC structure - it’s becuswe they couldn’t fill them based on projections.

I’d bet my quarter to your nickel ( or whatever currency) that one of the next 2 DVC “exciting additions” will be grand Floridian conversions. Don’t rule that out at Beach club either.
As far as the Polynesian, I thought that had more to do with the land around there being unsuitable and/or no room to build a new structure in that area @marni1971 might know more about that.
As GF already has the DVC building I would think Beach Club would be next. Many of my DVC Friends have told me how difficult it is to get a room at Beach Club DVC as it is a smaller property so I could see them taking over a floor or three in the BC resort. Marie

Perhaps...but they’ve always found a way around “unsuitable” in the past...

The map that was floated a few years came to pass: conversions and tiki huts. The only thing missing was the “tower” near ttc...but considering the massive reworking around there...who knows?

My money is on big pine key and maybe boca chica becoming DVC...they miscalculated there

It’s just a go to excuse that is lazy/superficial in the end.

Now granted...market share/bleed is a bigger concern than in the year 2000...but it can be balanced.

does disney want 75% of the current market? Or do they want 65% of a much larger market?

Here’s two things not to doubt:
1. Disney prime driver/goal is NOT to keep you out of universal at all costs (some pretty obvious reasons why)
2. They do Not Want decreased or limited attendance.

If you tell a Disney fan that up is down, they will tell you the reverse. Complain and it's actually your fault. In fact, they would rather complain about your legitimate questions/critiques/complaints than offer anything else.

In sum, welcome to attack-land.

In the history of the internet...this has been the story of the Disney forums...all of them.

It becomes cliques of self important “regulars” who chase every thing in what is a long...tedious...boring time on earth looking for the thrill of the “know”. So anyone claiming to be an expert is one. Fairly mindless. If you try to analyze these things...which is the source of all wisdom...get your shield and prepare for the assault.

This gondola thing is the perfect example. When first reported, the idea that they wouldn’t AC these things made no damn sense...still doesn’t.

But instead of discussing ways where that might make sense/be plausible...the mere question has been roundly attacked for two years.

Don’t question the great Oz...on anything.

You know what, the lack of air con was indeed discussed, and the reasons for it given. And then later confirmed by a cable car engineer, no less. And we know he is because we can read his blog and see his credentials.

If you didn’t bother to read the start of the thread, that’s your problem. Clearly you didn’t or you’d know when the whole thing was pieced together (2 Years, really?). But no need to make out that it was never discussed. The reason it wasn’t continued to be discussed is because the mods actually got tired of the constant bickering and banned it.
