Complained About New Parking Fees

I get penalized because it takes up a small rectangle of space that has existed for years and years and no additional cost have been incurred today in relation to yesterday...
I think you missed the point of what I was saying. I was trying to show that there is indeed an actual cost associated with that space and as it increases the business becomes less sustainable. This is why self parking either has to go up as well or they have to start diverting money from room rates to parking. Now don’t get me wrong at around $400 it should be no trouble at all to do that. They just don’t want to show a decline in revenue and they feel like if everyone else is doing it they can too.

Now I am confused as the AAA site to make reservations for the Hyatt Regency (4 diamonds) clearly states as I copied free parking and (Valet)
What you copied actually said “fee” not free. I don’t think you included a link so I’m not looking at what you’re looking at. Either way the hotel site itself is showing the fee.

Yes and yes. And they started cramming everything into their carry-on to avoid paying for a checked bag.
And the Disney equivalent is now to force you to check your overstuffed bag at the gate! Complain all you want, that bag ain't going in the overhead compartment.

The one thing that kind of makes all of the "industry standard" discussion moot is that Disney in the past never followed the industry standard, they defined it. Disney was widely considered the leader in Customer Service and unique guest experiences. Industry standard isnt that at all. That term shouldnt even apply. Marie

The difference is that the industry standard they are referring to is the hotel industry. Disney has never defined the hotel industry or been a leader in the industry. They didn’t even get into the business until the early 70’s. They operated a hotel on I-Drive just to try to learn the business. Disney isn’t able to sell their rooms at $400 a night because they’re exceptional hotels, it’s because it’s connected to the theme park resort experience. This is the point I think Disney fails to realize. They’re so caught up thinking they’re hotels are truly on the same level as high end luxury hotels and trying to keep up the standards to prove that. Instead they should view their hotels as what they are, an integral part of the theme park vacation experience. Personally I think they should throw out all these ideas of following these standards to be considered high end hotels and focus on the overall guest experience. So yeah I agree they should be an exception to the industry and not simply following it.

ridiculous treatment of the op...
essentially asking if anyone had actually said something instead of just complaining about it online and paying anyway was met with a resounding 'why bother?'

we're talking about a company with a history of scraping for every inch combined with a fandom seemingly willing to give away feet
- how on earth does 'pay it or don't go' lead to anything productive at all?

silence is acceptance, and, in most cases, encouragement of poor behavior

yes, twdc is a business focused on money, but why is it that so many fans appear to forget whose money?

It’s is always borderline Stockholm syndrome...it will never be fully explained/understood.

The other dynamic is that if you question the shield, you get attacked.
Consumers should ALWAYS question the prices they pay...it’s where their power lies.

That applies more to Disney product...not less.
