Some are. I received this last year when Space Mountain went down while waiting in line.

My language was imprecise, but in the context of the message to which I was responding (someone perhaps bought bogus FPs online) I was referring to the "regular" FPs, not guest recovery FPs, although I can see how someone might be equally miffed by being denied entry with one of these (despite the clearly stated exceptions). No amount of miffery, however, justifies fisticuffs against a CM.

Another possibility -- the DVC-awarded FPs as previously mentioned.

If you don't think people who punch cast members in the face (which has not been disputed by anybody) should go to jail, then yes, you are very lucky.

Or perhaps you'd like to submit a scenario where punching this girl in the face while she's working TOT should NOT warrant imprisonment. We are all waiting...

I agree! So she was banned, big deal. She should be in jail!

These type of things (LA and WDW) are going to happen more often unfortunately. It's the result of Disney Corp nickle and dimeiing every cent out of the guest, short staffing (which leads to crowded lines) and over worked CMs. It's creating a hostile, negative atmosphere that leads to these short fuses. That's what Iger and the clowns never understood about Disney. It's never been about the rides, it was always been about the positive atmosphere that Disney created. Iger and Disney Corp are running this thing into the ground.

But but but...won't someone think of the shareholders.

Bad things happen all of the time. We hear and read about it more than ever because of there has never been coverage like this before I am not a fan of Walt Disney World Managment, but bad things were happening even in the glory days. The recreation photos Inhave seen from California is also a trend I am not a fan of. Let us not commemorate that behavior.

They don't know. But if they are caught violating the ban, they can be criminally charged with trespassing.
This. And we do it in the hotel business as well. The ban enables the property owner to have the charge of criminal trespass laid which has legal penalties and a criminal record attach. In some cases we can know they are trying because we keep lists of banned persons including things like addresses and descriptions and sometimes pictures if the jurisdiction allows.

While casinos invest in cameras with facial recognition to keep banned "cheaters" out, I doubt it is worth the investment for Disney.
I would be interested in knowing just how much effort Disney does or does not put into keeping people out who have been banned. With the sheer number of people who go through the parks each day, I would think it would be exceedingly difficult. I wonder if they actually make an effort to keep them out or if they just let them be unless they cause more trouble.

Going back a few years before magic band my card would not let me go into the parks, a cast member came along and said the easiest way to sort it without having to go to Guest services would be to take my photo on their hand held device they had and it would work on face recognition rather than your finger print, and it worked straight away, so l suppose they can also block people from entering the same way,
Maybe if you get banned they take your photo before kicking you out

And they do. But a 1:1 match with a known face and name is a LOT easier than a 1:N match when you're talking millions per year. Given the day-to-day state of Disney IT, I'll bet that if they use FR, they farm it out to a third party.

obligatory hate at guest, love at cm, of course...
severity of altercation rather surprising, but, as said, the general interaction is certainly not, for many unfortunate reasons

frontline bears a lot, as shown; respecting that fact varies wildly, as known

of supreme interest to me is the reason this cm chose not to press charges -
i'm hoping she may have realized she didn't fully adhere to behavioral guidelines and is considering the event a wash in the end

...because there's a whole bunch of legal sticky icky all up in this thread
