They do charge you for parking (and other things), though. As I've said before, I bet there are a lot of folks here who would be quite surprised if Disney broke down their resort fees that are built into their high nightly price. You never get anything for free, they're just not telling you what you're paying per night. I don't know why Loewe's doesn't go to an all-inclusive price, but I'm sure there are business reasons.

I would rather not see it on the bill :) I know a lot of downtown hotels charge for parking in major cities, I just think it should be part of the resort package is all. Just my .02

But you're still paying for it either way.

I kinda think I am paying for the chips and salsa at all the Mexican restaurants I go to in my final bill for dinner, but I don't wanna see that charge on the check. Like parking it just seems that those are part of the package.

Either way I could care less about $15 per night, it's not going to sway me on where I stay. I just think it silly to charge me for parking when I clearly am staying in your hotel and going to your parks.

Oh come on, you are being charged for the parking whether you see it or not (you're being charged far more for it at Disney than at Universal as well due to the outrageous room rates). It doesn't make a damn bit of difference whether you see it printed on your bill or not (only people who are easily tricked by psychological ploys such as discounts or sales will get fooled by it). Are you really going to be more unhappy with a meal (identical meal) that is laid out like this?-
Steak- $
Chips- $
Drink- $
Total- $$$

As opposed to one that is laid out like this?-
Meal- $$$

Really?

The other thing to think about, Disney will charge you for parking whether you are parking or not.. At Universal, do they automatically add in the parking to your bill or only if you actually use the parking lot? if they don't add it on, and you don't pay for parking, then to me, it appears, Disney is ripping people off and in a way stealing from them, charging them for a service they aren't using...

I already posted that a room at the Hard Rock is $3 cheaper a night than a room at the Boardwalk for the week we are there, May 31st thru June 7th go see for yourself.

Back?

OK then where is this "outrageous room rates" at Disney you are speaking of? With $15 a night for parking the Disney room within walking distance of two parks (just like Uni) is cheaper than the room at Uni. Both resorts are at the same level in accommodations.

Save you rolling eyes, notice my "just my .02" it mean it is just my opinion, and it is as valid as your. Why do you feel the need to try and be condescending?

I don't know about Boardwalk, but the Deluxes around the Seven Seas Lagoon are absurdly overpriced by any measure. I've stayed at them in the early 90's when they were reasonably priced (or at least sanely priced) and had fantastic upkeep, service and amenities. Not to mention the monorails weren't torn up on the insides and didn't reek of what I can only describe as a gorilla cage.

I did price the Contemporary when I booked the BW I want to say it was about $40 more per night than the BW but I am not 100% sure on that price. I would think that would put it about $25 more per night than Portifino Bay. So with parking it is $10 more per night.

Like I said nothing is free, but just include it in the price already. Again just my .02, others may prefer a more price specific approach to billing. I mean I have posted often that I don't care if the DDP cost me more than out of pocket dinning so my mindset on billing is not everyones.

Either way I would not let it keep me from staying at a Uni hotel.

I love the transporter idea but Universal would have to buy the rights from Paramount. If it were put up for auction Disney would buy it. Very funny idea though

Mass transit system.

The survey has already been done.
busses? I was just reading the wet and wild posts and they are discussing the same thing. The solution suggested in a walk way bridge from Cabana bay but that does not a dress the issue from the deluxe hotels.

Nope, not busses, a rail system, and likely one that has always been iconic of the US Disney parks (or at least something similar). You do know about the way the parking garages and central hub were designed, right? Until the city and I-Drive CRA can come up with solutions that address the traffic needs in a more complete way (not holding my breath, btw, thanks to the way most of the north portion was planned), using busses as the main form of transit would be as bad as the typical traffic jams around DTD and the DHS entrance during the holidays, only 99% of the year.

that is the problem. I would like to see the map on this. where is the land for the rail system? As far as I can see the land they own is not adjacent to the existing parks and it would also have to connect to wet n wild. where and how? as you said using the streets doesn't work and you do not expect Orlando to be able to fix that problem. BUT Universal does have to before they can expand and use all the land they have or they will have to deal with this problem and so will their cusfomers. However if the attractions are great the customer will put up with it.

Its amazing what Comcast have planned. To link the two areas they'd only need a few plots willing to sell and the cooperation of the city. Hint: look up. That's all I'll say.
