I might be missing something here, but we are going off leaked plans for one show building correct? Is it not a possibility that there is more to Avatarland than what we have seen? Once again just a question maybe I have missed something in all these pages on this thread.

In my opinion, I don't see how you announce a major expansion with Avatar and then support it with just two rides, one of which is an enhanced movie. Simulators and movies are enjoyable but people like to actually ride something, even if it is only a boat ride or omnimover style. Now, if the boat ride resembled some of the concept art for Shanghai Disney's Pirate ride, I'd be a little more impressed. Still, AK has suffered from a lack of rides (again, just my opinion) and this doesn't scream "Look! We're making this park a destination."

I personnally felt that Vekoma motorbike coaster would make a great Star Wars Speeder Bike ride but that idea is not happening per the above post.

The plans talk about, but don't show the whole land. They detail the two attractions for the land, and go on to talk about the 2 shops, restrooms, and a counter service restaurant.

I don't know what was said in press conferences, but the press release for the original annoucement says nothing about "major expansion", all it says is "Disney plans to build the first AVATAR themed land at Walt Disney World, within the Animal Kingdom park."

You're probably right. It just seemed like the announcement to build the first AVATAR land could be inferred to suggest something momentous. Just putting too much expectation into it.

I just figure there could be more than meets the eye, maybe we are all jumping to conclusions here and there is more to Avatarland than what we are seeing. Than again I could be totally wrong and it is exactly what we are seeing.

What we're seeing is the main attraction building. The stuff we aren't seeing are the shops and restaurant.

Ok, just thought that there might be more land available outside of the main show building for another ride as well that is not on the plans that we are seeing.

Oh, there will be land available. But if these plans are real, the coaster isn't in the land.

Most interesting thing said in the thread. Always enjoy your input.
Thanks. I just can't get excited for a Soarin' 2.0 when Soarin' 1.0 is about as interesting as watching a nature film at the local IMAX (with the exception of the music score). Of course most local IMAX theaters don't have the vintage film scratches or the long wait in a modern queue themed to look like an airport terminal leading to a hanger.

I was not suggesting a coaster, just possibly another ride, could be any type of ride. I understand a lot of people are hoping for a coaster, I am just hoping for an over the top themed land with great rides coaster or not.

Again, these plans are just for this one building. They don't show what's around it, at all. They only show
PART of the boat ride. And, they make specs for things like counter service, which probably refer to elements that need to interface with this building.

Does anyone else think they could also do a major table service restaurant, with the bioluminescent plants, as well, projections of the moon and stars on the ceiling.

Again, I have no info at all. This is just my guess. More succinctly, my hope--that what we've
seen here is just the tip of the iceberg. But it is true that we haven't seen "it all" in these prints.

These 3 construction plan renders were from a 50 page document, I believe it was this very thread where @edwardtc gave more information based on the document.

The pictures are only for this one building. The plans are not. The plans talk about the buildings still being planned not shown, which are the counter service restaurant, E-ticket's shop, land's main shop, and restroom.s

I appreciate the optimism, but others HAVE seen it all (the document sent out for bids)

And I think this was a good compromise. Don't put too many eggs in the Avatar basket (most people's biggest criticism) and spend the money elsewhere (Studios.)
