Can any of our insiders share your thoughts on this theory:

Is it possible that Disney is negotiating a contract with Vekoma for a bulk purchase of its motorbike and "Soarin 2.0" products?

We keep hearing both systems tossed around for AK, MK, DL, SHDL, HKDL in the forms of Avatar, Iron Man, Tron, and Lone Ranger.

Can anyone confirm which systems are likely for which parks? And as a result of a bulk purchase, is it possible that the motorbikes are still in the future for WDW if they're being offered at discount from Vekoma?

I really was hoping that with the change of leaders and the egos in negotations, that this would disappear and get filed away into the announced but never happened group among others.

There are things I would rather see in that plot than Avatar but it's beyond obvious that Disney has no plans of dusting off the Beastly Kingdom plans (even though I would be beyond excited for that) and AK needs...something. I'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

I think the boat ride might be nice. The biker coaster I would prefer to be Tron themed.

Maybe I read things wrong.

Can someone who has seen ALL the plans confirm or deny that they cover the entirety of the
land, and show the whole C-Ticket ride?

In my opinion, I don't see how you announce a major expansion with Avatar and then support it with just two rides, one of which is an enhanced movie. Simulators and movies are enjoyable but people like to actually ride something, even if it is only a boat ride or omnimover style. Now, if the boat ride resembled some of the concept art for Shanghai Disney's Pirate ride, I'd be a little more impressed. Still, AK has suffered from a lack of rides (again, just my opinion) and this doesn't scream "Look! We're making this park a destination."

I personnally felt that Vekoma motorbike coaster would make a great Star Wars Speeder Bike ride but that idea is not happening per the above post.
If I am not mistaken, the Asia expansion of AK opened with just Kali and the Pangani trail so it is hardly without precedent for a major expansion to initially be far less than what is shown in these plans.

Am I the only one who doesn't think DHS is in desperate need of a makeover and that Animal Kingdom needs to be the first priority? When I went to DHS over the summer, everything was in marvelous condition, animatronics were working, and Star Tours was brilliant; even if it didn't draw in the expected crowds. But when you look at AK, half of the effects are turned off on Dinosaur, we have the Yeti issue, and nets under TOL. AK needs to the have a new draw so hopefully, like MK experienced with the Fantasyland project, refurbishments will follow.

As much as I'd love to see DHS get Carsland, this is my opinion...

Everyone is kinda down playing the water ride, but with the possible incorporation of the new movie, which has an underwater theme, this ride could be very exciting. Plus i believe outdoor attractions work a lot better at AK then indoor attractions. Just being surrounded by all the foliage makes for a very unique environment compared to other theme parks.

Also the motorbike coaster seems like a very interesting concept, I’m sure if Mr. Cameron really wants it, they will build it no matter who has to pay. Either way i guess we’ll all have to wait for next years D23 event to know exactly whats being planned.

Just a random thought but, I believe the original Disney Park Blog said contraction would start around this winter. Since the M&G location will soon have a new home, and FotLK will soon shut down. Could disney actually start deconstruction and moving dirt on this project relatively soon?

But why doesn’t Disney hold off on making announcements about rides and such until construction has started? Universal tends to wait till the last minute to tell people what they’re doing. Not saying either are great ideas, but its just an interesting comparison.

For the critics of this land, I look at it as if the worst possible scenario is that it's on par with the Fantasyland expansion: Visually stunning, but the attractions themselves aren't the major draws we want. Having said that, there is still so much unknown about this plan. I suspect more information will be revealed on December 7th.

When the park opened, Asia was only Flights of Wonder. Then Kali and Maharajah Jungle Trek opened in 1999. It was another 7 years before Expedition Everest and Yak and Yeti opened.

The attractions are bound to be better than FLE, right? I mean we are getting some pretty mild offerings with this new expansion. Surly Avatar will be slightly more...thrilling? But I see what you are saying. If we get something at least FLE sized, it will still be great for AK.

BTW, what are the chances of Avatar spreading into multiple parks? Like what if the ended up doing this land for Animal Kingdom and then something else later on at DHS. Kinda like what we are seeing now with UNI/IOA. I think it could build on the park's avatar brand.

Ugh. Let's just hope they do this one, right.

Asia in Animal Kingdom? DHS and Epcot after they first opened? Hong Kong opened rather small and they have been expanding that as well.
I am not talking about expansions in general. I am talking about Disney announcing something and having concept art for the second phase of that announcement and then that planned phase actually getting built as planned. I don't think that has ever happened.

I want three Avatar rides but if there were three, that would make more than 30% of the park's rides AVATAR themed. That may or may not be a good thing. To someone like myself I would love that but looking from a different perspective that may be the case.

It seems like people want a Rainforest Cafe meets Pandora...how would they implement that? Would they use the space where Rainforest Cafe is now? I don't see them having Rainforest Pandora and Rainforest Cafe in the same park. Unless the Pandora restaurant wouldn't be set in a bioluminescent jungle (which I think is unlikely because there aren't many possible alternatives. Marine base camp? o_O ).

The only positive for them not having the AVATAR motorbike coaster is that they could potentially make it a Tron themed attraction in Tomorrowland.

Note this is all opinion.
