Doesn't anyone else think its suspicious that Spirit made a post yesterday that James Cameron has given the greenlight for Avatarland and the next day we are bombarded with Avatarland news???
It's a lot of money but not nearly enough for a project of this calibre the way WDI works. Sadly. I wouldn't call it greatly expanded. More like another hour on the day. And it's nearer to 400 million.500 Million dollars isn't exactly cheap but. Cars Land and Potter are both great, but why would Avatar be any less of a land? I mean think about it..
Of course Beastly Kingdom would still be better, but I'm happy with Avatar. I can tell your a true disney fan so I would imagine you'd be excited to know AK is going to be greatly expanded.
I guess it's a good thing I missed it then...Usually at the bottom of the sinking ship
Oh sorry, I thought it was 500 And it's hard to tell at this point though, these two rides will not be the entire land. Who knows, me might even get another E-Ticket! But is there even any confirmation these are real? If it reaches my expectations (which are high) it will be a 3+ hour area. Hopefully WDI will even add a nighttime show! It's a lot of money but not nearly enough for a project of this calibre the way WDI works. Sadly. I wouldn't call it greatly expanded. Sounds like great news to me. TWDC needs to start investing in WDW once more and with a combined FLE at MK, Avatarland at DAK, and Carsland at DHS, even TDWC's strongest critics will have to acknowledge that, after a 10+ year slumber, WDW is moving forward once again.

Of course it's good for the park, but in reality it should be the opening salvo of a far bigger project.
Is there any chance that WDI has finally figured out how to get value from a dollar vs. spending $20 million on making the drapes in a single scene of Shahtoosh by the weavers of Kashmir? It's a lot of money but not nearly enough for a project of this calibre the way WDI works. It seems like this IS the opening salvo of a far bigger project, which also includes the company expanding DHS with Carsland and a Monsters Inc coaster, etc. I'd rather they spend less money on Avatar if it means that they can also expand DHS for the better as well. Nobody really cares about Avatar, so why spend gobs of money on it? I still can't believe their spending ANY money on it!
The video posted above is the small Intamin model, not the ride system Disney is using for the Tron coaster, which would be similar to the Avatar one.for everyone for the bike coaster... has there even been one built yet that isn't just some low intensity family coaster? the ones I am aware of aren't much more thrilling than barnstomer was.. and we know that's the point keeping many from embracing the mine coaster.
I have not seen anyone say it yet.
I will take your bet though. How much?
Does anyone think WDI axed the bike coaster because they have plans for it in DHS? They will need to do something with Rockin Rollercoaster when Aerosmith's contract is up soon. Possibly a overhaul of the building to look like Flynn's arcade? Then remake the tron interior from SDL? Sounds like an easier task then making a ground up project, the track is already in place.
Would you rather they blow the whole wad on Animal Kingdom, or save some for DHS too? I, for one, would like to see something added to both parks, rather than one of them get a lot. Both parks are desperate for something new. They can add phases, but I just want for them to at least put a phase 1 in both parks, personally.
I think the 3-tier loading is to accommdoate this.
Similar to soarin but a much simpler ride mechanism.
