Absolutely. It'll take 20 years though!!!

But yes, I think that's absolutely why they're using the ride systems that they're using.

I think you meant to say, they're absolutely using these ride systems because they're proven, reliable, and cheaper than the alternative.

Yet again, I can't believe the irony on these boards.

The same people attacking a Soarin 2.0 ride system (if that's even a fair comparison) are the same ones pleading for Indiana Jones Adventure (which is IDENTICAL system and vehicles to Dinosaur)

So, are you saying that after you've seen one movie at your town's multiplex, you don't go see another movie there? Because the seats, the screen, and the popcorn are all identical...

No, I meant what I said. They're using these ride systems because they'd be the least expensive to change at a later date.

If Avatar 2 is successful, then the bike coaster will more than likely be built and it doesn't sound like there's anything cheap about it.

I don't blame them at all for being a bit cautious at this stage.

I don't think Disney makes rides JUST for small children... I think EE is a pretty awesome coaster. I'm honestly excited about Avatarland. No, Avatar is not Disney, but it's going to be gorgeous and I think it'll fit in amazingly to DAK. I think that's what sets Disney theme parks apart. Anyone can build a coaster, but only Disney gives you that in-depth level of theming. Can anyone even confirm whether there will be coaster or not?

I suspect that for what it would cost to redesign the land and queues, and write, produce, and shoot a replacement film for Pandoarin', they could do a little set dressing to the bike coaster and have a de-Avatarized ride, too.

Because the EMV is actually a good ride system.

Yep. And Soarin' sucks. That's why people are willing to wait 2 hours for it, and applaud at the end.

And no one here has yet explained exactly what is 2.0 about it. How do you know that this won't have a completely different ride experience?

Obviously, it's all opinion, but Soarin' is as interesting as toast for me. Slightly tilting back and forth while watching a poorly edited IMAX film isn't my idea of a must ride.

Music for the attraction is terrific, though.

Just as long as you don't think I took shots at you personally for your opinion toward Avatar. I can appreciate someone's opinion that they didn't like the movie or think the land is a bad move (even though I think we all agree it was a knee jerk reaction for sure)...

Well, anyway, love having a good chat with someone who posts rational thoughts without letting emotion take over... Thanks Frank! In all honesty, I do enjoy reading your posts....

No I know you weren't taking personal shots, I could see where you were coming from. And thanks, I appreciate that and I enjoy your posts too.

thats probably one thing that never gets mentioned but i really liked the music from avatar and think it will work really well in a theme park setting much like HP music just makes the place that much better....JMO

Not true. From what we've heard about the coaster, the ride environment will be almost as complex as the mountains of CarsLand and Radiator Springs Racers. Rumors say they're talking about building the floating islands, which would be impossible to simply re-theme.

A boat ride is just set pieces and AAs. They've already proven how easily they can change this type of ride with Stitch. The theater ride is, as you say, just a movie. It'd be relatively inexpensive to change that out (especially with Disney's CGI capabilities).

I kind of understand you. I'm not to fond of AvatarLand! :/

Ditto.

I haven't spent much time looking at the drawings, but is it possibly that Disney could be copying a copy? Vekoma's version of the Soarin' ride system loads from multiple levels, whereas the Disney original loads from one level and then lifts up. Vekoma's system has an advantage in that it splits the levels up into separate mechanisms that are required to enforce less movements. Is it possible that Disney could be following Vekoma? The separate levels would also allow for each row to move in more directions than just up and down.
