Unfortunately, it looks more like it's stationary like Soarin'.

I don't mean to pick on your post, but a lot of people have made this point and I don't see how anyone can make that determination from the leaked prints. Maybe on other prints that are out there but not leaked. But the stuff I've seen has AFAIK no information on the details of the ride vehicles and their movement (or lackthereoff).

Has anyone else noticed that each plan is for a different level? I don't think it would be impossible that we may see different screens vertically and the ride unit may move up and down (to give the effect of going from land to space and then back down again).

I don't think it would be impossible either, so that's why I don't understand the first part of your post.

Yet you chose to highlight it?
Somefolk have differing opinions. Welcome to the real world.
Highlight what? Highlight the fact that Frank responded to me so i responded back to him? yea, well, I did...

And I stand by my word that the ones saying they will never step foot in the land are kidding themselves... They know full well they will check it out at least once... ESPECIALLY if the land gets raving reviews...

From what I have seen posted, the building has no tracks or areas to move around beyond the room you are in. It essentially looks like vehicles that will move up and down, left and right, but have no real substantial movement.

Stationary as in it doesn't move from room to room (which was the original question).

It may very well move up and down or side to side.

Pretty damning opinion of Disneys maintenance capabilities. Why then would these failing not also apply to other attractions?

Touche ... to be fair when i went on RSR a few weeks ago it kept breaking down while i was queue, we would probably be stood in a queue moaning our heads off in reality

At least the crowds will be light for the rest of us when it opens.

We will be in and out of the rides with no queues at all (note browsing Disney Execs, no need for fast passes), drinking our free avatar beer having the best time of our lives. Whereas you lot will be stood in a queue for (a broken) everest for 150+ mins.

Enjoy

Yeah, it's ridiculous to completely write something like this completely off just because the source material may not be your favorite. You've paid your admission price; it' would have already been built, so you may as well at least experience it before coming to the conclusion that you don't like it.

I'm not a fan of Avatar at AK or that they'd spend that much money on a non-Disney franchise (especially since there are so many of their own to explore) but, last time I checked my answering machine, Staggs hadn't called to ask me my opinion. They're going to build it whether I like it or not, so I choose to be optimistic about it.

Depends on the motion of the simulators.
If it is just a mini-soarin in 3-d.....meh.
If they can get a wide range of motion, real or simulated, in the same league as Potter.......much better.

The coaster was better.

Yeah but the coaster (with a highly themed environment) can't be changed as easily if 2 and 3 bomb. I imagine the coaster will be phase 2 if Avatar 2 is successful at all.

We're only seeing the theater attraction and part of the boat ride in these plans. There's a lot more area to play with than this.

With that said, again, people can come online and state (I'll use state instead of shout) they will never step foot in the land, but no one would ever be able to prove you all held your word... You can say you did, you can say you skipped the land while waiting in the queue for the ride... So, saying you'll do something really holds no weight, has no merit, cause it can never be proven... The online characters most of the members here play will have to be continued though a lot of the schtick is truly getting old... They need new material (no not you personally, but I think you know the members I am talking about)...

You're absolutely right, I can't prove that I have stuck to my word but I can assure you I will be (so while it's pretty much worthless, I give my word that I will stick to my word :p) . I see what you're saying though, it must sound like a lot of false bravado but I have never liked the idea of Avatarland and I think the best alternative to spewing out anti-Avatar garbage for years and annoying everyone else on this forum is to ignore the thing as best I can.

In regards to your last point, I think I have a pretty good idea of why you're talking about.
