These aren't ride prints it is just facility drawings of a ride bldg. It doesn't give much info about the ride systems just an outline of equipment inside the bldg, but at least it is better than nothing.

It's looks like a drawing package given to contractors so they can bid on the work.

Anyone that says they wont set foot in that land is kidding themselves.
Are you seriously going to go to AK in 5/6 years time go on everest etc, then just walk past the entrance to the area for AL and not even step foot in, sorry but you are not kidding us, only yourself if you honestly think this will happen.

EVEN if they were giving away free avatar beer ;)

I think it is really hard to look at these blueprints, and imagine just what they have in mind for the experience... yes it looks like Soarin' 2.0, but we don't know just what the 2.0 involves. That will be the fun part of figuring this out, until they tell us.

But rest assured, they are getting the BUZZ they want.

I don't set foot in DAK now. So it won't be hard for me.

Notice also that there's nothing about these ride systems that couldn't easily be re-themed down the line if Avatar thuds.

That's a much more likely reason they aren't going forward with the coaster at this phase. If 2 and 3 dud, they can change these 2 attractions down the line fairly easily. A coaster with Avatar themed rock work and environments, not so much.

So reply if you have god knowledge on the plans: Is the flying attraction more like Soarin', where you sit still with no animatronics or sets but only a screen, or something like Forbidden Journey at IoA, where you move and swing past screens and sets?

This is my question as well. I'm not any sort of expect on reading blueprints, but if the screens are three stories as people have said (I think), they I would think there is the potential for the vehicle to move. It does not look like yougo into different room, but movement up and down and side to side in front of a giant screen along with 4D effects (water, wind, smells, etc.) could make for an impressive ride. Especially if they use some random sequences like Star Tours to make the experience vary with different rides.

I'm just skeptical that Cameron would agree to the big attraction of Pandora simply being a copy of Soarin' but with 3D. Maybe that's naive, but I've got to imagine there will be some significant plussing of this attraction compared to Soarin'.

Well said.

At least the crowds will be light for the rest of us when it opens.

We will be in and out of the rides with no queues at all (note browsing Disney Execs, no need for fast passes), drinking our free avatar beer having the best time of our lives. Whereas you lot will be stood in a queue for (a broken) everest for 150+ mins.

Enjoy

I can only speak for myself but I will 100% not be setting foot in Avatarland for a few reasons, the main one being I thought the film was boring and terribly over-hyped and I have no interest in it or anything connected to it. I don't know if you're referring to anyone in particular but I have never "screamed" anything, I have explained my reasoning before and I will stick to that because I am not a hypocrite. It won't stop me setting foot in AK; Kilamanjaro Safaris is one of my favourite rides at WDW and I love Everest so Avatarland won't drive me away but it won't tempt me at all either. I've never bashed or criticised anyone who is looking forward to Avatarland or is a fan of the film and I genuinely hope that for those who are excited for it will be happy with the final results. But Avatarland just isn't for me.

Not referring to anyone in particular... Just to the haters in general who have shouted on top of their lungs... If you haven't shouted, and honestly, I don't ever recall seeing you shouting, so I do believe you on that front, then my post doesn't pertain to you...

With that said, again, people can come online and state (I'll use state instead of shout) they will never step foot in the land, but no one would ever be able to prove you all held your word... You can say you did, you can say you skipped the land while waiting in the queue for the ride... So, saying you'll do something really holds no weight, has no merit, cause it can never be proven... The online characters most of the members here play will have to be continued though a lot of the schtick is truly getting old... They need new material (no not you personally, but I think you know the members I am talking about)...

Take a look at King Kong in USH (also Cameron)

edit: of course this is an error, shoudl read Peter Jackson, my mind went walkies...

I just thought of something.

The fact that we see plans for this one building---does that mean no coaster,
or does that mean we only have the plans for this one building?

I have seen THREE renderings. Are there more, that contextualize what we have?

Pretty damning opinion of Disneys maintenance capabilities. Why then would these failing not also apply to other attractions?

Has Cameron seen/been on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or Spiderman? I am wondering if he knows what is out there that he is "competing" against.

Does Cameron know that Soarin exists...and that his new "E-ticket" looks to be very similar to it.

I wish he would have pushed harder for something groundbreaking since he is "Cameron" and thats what he likes to do...

Yes. Cameron was seen touring WWoHP shortly after the project was announced.

I just did a search and found pics of him at the WWoHP...Im torn. This makes me a little happy because he knows what he is competing against and knows what else is out there in the theme park world. I would like to believe that he would push Disney into going "all out" with this project but with the leaked blueprints it saddens me to think that he gave in to Disney and cut back on aspects of the land that could have made this area become a must see...For example, the launched motorbike coaster. Disappointing...

Good/Great subject matter can have terrible/boring attractions:

Boring/out-dated subject matter can have great attractions:

IMO of course. Your WDW touring plans are entirely up to you and no one else.

Since I wasn't too keen on Avatarland to begin with, I'm okay with this apparently being scaled back.... IF... it means that more attention can be focused elsewhere, like the rumored DHS makeover.

But you get a good idea of the type of attraction it is. We can deduce that the building is set up similar to Mission: Space, and there are four theaters similar to Soarin'.
