Building my ADR list for a week long trip in January - looking for feedback

I'll be running the 2010 full marathon and making a family vacation out of the experience. We'll be arriving on the 8th of January and staying until Friday the 15th. My family will be my wife and I, our three girls (ages 4, 2 & 2) and my parents.

I am already working with the folks at Kingdom Konsultants to arrange things, but one aspect that is missing right now are my ADRs. I know I can't book them until 90 days out (which is early next month) but I want to pull my list together now so that I'm ready to go.

Here are the restaurants/shows I know I want to do - how does this list look, and do you guys think ADRs are required for lunch during the week? I know it's a typically slow time of year so I don't know if they are really necessary...

#1 prime importance - Breakfast in the castle with Cinderella. This one is an absolute must. I know it's tricky to get reservations so I'll be shooting for any morning we're there.

The rest:
- Dinner at the luau at the Poly
- Dinner at the hoop de doo review at Ft. Wilderness
- Dinner at liberty tree tavern (a bit of a family tradition)
- Mama Melrose at DHS
-

That's really all I have - are there others that are Can't Miss!? Since I have three little ones I'd love to have another character lunch or breakfast - got any suggestions?

Thanks all!

The best character meal in my opinion is with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore at MKs Crystal Palace - we always do a breakfast there (and the occasional dinner as well) :slurp:

You might also consider dinner at the Garden Grill in The Land pavilion at EPCOT. The food is good, and your kids should like it because it's a character meal and the restaurant rotates through the first part of the ride-thru attraction downstairs.

For a great character meal I would suggest the Crystal palace, as you have 3 princesses in your party either the Akershus in Norway or the 1900 Park Fare for dinner would be nice.
If you want a “grown up meal” I would recommend the California Grill it’s nice but Kid friendly and the view is outstanding plus you can watch wishes from the room.

Good luck! I'm running in the half marathon on Sat! I've been to Hoop Dee Doo Review and it is AWESOME! You should definitely go! Who knows, you might end up part of the show like I did, which is an experience you'll never forget. Plus, endless Sangria and the best strawberry shortcake ever!:sohappy:

In addition to the ones mentioned above ie California Grill, Le Cellier and Mama Melroses, when we are there (oiverlapping you from the 31st thru the 9th) we are planning on

Cat Kouizzanas at the Boardwalk - havent been there yet, Spoodles was a favorite but this is getting good reviews

Cape May Seafood BUffet - Big hit with my family

And

Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridan - wonderful meal and if you time it right, fireworks and the electrical water pageant outside your window

Enjoy!:sohappy:

That's Cat Kora's new restaurant, right? We'll be staying at Boardwalk Villas so that might be a really good choice one night.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I think I'll be adding the Garden Grill, and also the character meal at 1900 park fare sounds good too.

So many choices!

Not sure if you will be going to DHS, 2 places I would suggest is the Sci-Fi dinner, it is like a outdoor drive-in & you sit in cars, it is not character themed, but they have a huge screen that you watch old movies.

One other place is the Hollywood & Vine, I know they have characters from Disney Playhouse for Bfast & Lunch, I think this one would be great for the ages for your little ones.

I have a few suggestions:

1. Don't book the Luau in January. So often it is cancelled because it is too cold in January.

2. Try Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is WONDERFUL! It's even more fun if you book dinner at 4:00 when it opens and you are the family of the day. The food is really good and the atmosphere is amazing!

3. Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge is perfect for their ages. It is a fun place, they'll ride stick horses during dinner and have fun delivering kethcup bottles to other tables!

Hope these suggestions are helpful!

ADRs are complete!!

here's what I've got. Keep in mind we're traveling to the World with my parents, my wife and our three girls (ages 4.5, 2.5 and 2.5).

Breakfast: Cinderella's Royal Table
Breakfast: Chef Mickey's
Breakfast: Donald's safari breakfast at Tusker House
Lunch: Sci-Fi drive-in
Lunch: Coral Reef
Dinner: 50's prime-time
Dinner: Tony's
Dinner: Akersha's

We're hoping to also get a lunch at Liberty Tree, but for some reason it's unavailable the whole week we're there right now - could be a reservation glitch or maybe it's going down for maintenance?

Nice job! You got some of the harder ones to get!

When planning be prepared Coral Reef tends to be a very long lunch - service is slow, but we've always had good food.

LOVE Prime Time 50's!!!!! Have the pot roast for me :slurp:, and don't forget to say hi to "mom"

That's weird. I bet it's because they're supposed to do a character meal for all 3 meals while CP is closed for the refurb. I tried to get LTT for breakfast both online and with the IPO folks today and it wasn't available. I'm crossing my fingers they're switchin' stuff in the system!

From a castmember at dining last week that I talked to, LTT, the Plaza or Tony's will probably take the place of the Crystal Palace while it is being refurbed. That's probably why it's unavailable so far. I couldn't get into Crystal Palace on the last day it was open, until just a few days ago, and I started calling the morning of my 90 day plus 10 reservation.
