These trains look preferred over others. Is that Joe Biden in the front seat?

you like which "future that never was" look? The 50s/60s "Jetsons/comic book" version they have in orlando? or the victorian "steampunk" design they did in paris and tried in anahiem? or perhaps the 80s "cyberpunk" sci fi future (The REAL future) look that would be inpired by George Lucas, Ridley Scott, and Phillip KDick?
All....I love 'em all.:sohappy:

Well....yeah. Goes without saying.

I'm holding out hope for a whole new entrance...kinda like....

Wow, HKDL's Space Mt has a really nice exterior design at the entrance point. Would love to have something similar here in Florida. I really hope that horrid Skyway station and Arcade go away. Those two structures are stunning examples of "tacky", "out of place", "uninspired", and "outdated"

Nah...Sci-Fi is the theme of all Tomorrowlands now. Forget the future, they gave up on that theme a while back.
I'm glad. I like the "future that never was" look.

Same here!

For Space Mountain at WDW I want a combination of our Tomorrowland and sleek stylized interiors with kind of a "1970's Future that Never Was" kind of updating the 2001-ness of our ride.

I'm still hoping for Eddie Sotto's Sci-Fi city concept to show up somewhere...

Yes please!

You know would be great, but entirely inappropriate for the Magic Kingdom? A Blade Runner themed Tomorrowland.

:D

While doing a land revolving around the future sounds like a great idea, the problem is it becomes stale very quickly so it requires refreshing far more often than other lands do.

I wish they'd just change tomorrowland into a sci-fi land (in which case things like Monster's Inc would fit) and change futureworld over at Epcot into DiscoveryWorld in which case everything there would fit as well. They'd still be great themes and they'd be far more cohesive than they are currently.

Isn't that whats been done? Yeah its still called Tomorrowland but they would never change the name of the land as its become part of the American vernacular. You've got Monsters Inc, Stitch, Buzz Lightyear, that alien statue with the suitcase and just an overall look of sci-fi with Space Mountain and the TTA. The only things that don't fit would be COP, since its not sci-fi and deals with the future and then the Speedway which doesn't fit with future or sci-fi. There also adding in the Stitch Stage Show, so I'd say that Disney has long been using Tomorrowland as a presentation for Sci-Fi rather than the future of tomorrow. What else would you suggest they do to get the sci-fi point across?

I agree, they need to change Future World to Discovery World and that would work a whole lot better. Tomorrowland already has a sci-fi land theme to it, but I just wish they'd expand the avenue of the planets look to the rest of the land which is pretty blank. What they also need to do is move stitch to the Tiki room, and either relocate monsters inc to DHS or get rid of it entirely because it really is terribly out of place.

Yes, Tomorrow land becomes Yesterday land fairly quickly but that is where careful park management comes in to play. IF the area was updated on a regular basis this would not be a problem. :brick:

I agree, if they are going with the sci-fi theme they should change the name of the land.

As for Future World, they should return to showcasing future technologies in the pavilions and leave the name alone unless they change it to Tomorrowland :animwink:.

That's cool....and agree to disagree deal. :)

Agreed.

As appropriate as the renaming of both TL and FW would be, I still can't imagine walking into Discovery World/Land in Epcot. It just... :hurl:

And TL is classic; you can't change the name! Its not that I'm against sci-fi in TL, its just that I think TL sci fi right now is based too much in cartoony sci fi.
