Breaking News: Space Mountain Rehab

No, we knew the ride was going to be down, but the "breaking news" is that it will be down for a year or more. Old reports had it opening for the holidays.

I'm not even sure what the poster was referring to in the first place! Apparently their "quote" button is broken.

Check up on your Down Times

Let me ask you this, when was the last time you heard of a ride that was going thru a major refurbishment not being down at least a year? Never. So I say again, not breaking news.

Exactly...and those wands will be able to do a "Kim-Possible-World-Showcase"/Magiquest thing to the scenery and whatnot.
If they still do that....I really hope so.

You know how it is....

Disney gets Indiana Jones, Universal gets Spiderman...

Disney gets interaction, UNIVERSAL gets interaction...

Disney gets Fireworks, universal gets hit by the fireworks...

So just to add in my two cents, I would hope for the love of all that is good in the world Universal will not try to recreate any of the human characters from the HP series in AA form. Have you seen the Mummy AA? Have you seen any of their other AAs or how well they aged? (Im looking at you Cat in the Hat!) The most impressive AAs they have (IMO of course) is the terminator bots. I'm also glad to hear that they went with screens for Spiderman as I can't imagine them making an overly impressive Spiderman AA! Sorry just need to rant about that!

You may carry on with your disscussion already in progress!

The breaking news title refers to the belief that SM will be down for less than 8 months. That contradicts what`s been said around here for the past few months.

Rides being down less than a year? SSE 94 and 2007, the HM, iasw, HoP, EEA, JIYI...

I enjoy the movies. Of course before I go and see them, I look in the mirror for an hour and tell myself, "It's not gonna be as good as the book." over and over to lower my expectations, and then I really enjoy them.

The only really important thing they haven't done ANYTHING with, and it's going to show in the next one is the Harry/Ginny relationship.

And my problem with Voldey is that they made him too spastic in the movies. It's like he's always flipping out. I always saw him as a Darth Vader-like figure. Cool, calm, collected, and horrifyingly-powerful.

Sorry, but this is not true.

They weaved in some subtle, but noticable signs of Ginny's feelings for Harry in the Order movie. Jealous glaring, slowing to stare at Harry with her shy fondness for him, angered shoulder bump into Cho.... The Director was setting it up for the next movie, but not in a blatant obvious fashion that they would devote an extra 5-10 minutes of film time to develop what was happening.

Sorry for breaking the subject.... (not like it hasn't already)

That's just dumb.
There should be walk-around wizards, just not the important ones.
Give them wands that are interactive with the scenery and....oh, wait...
:D

So how would you be able to tell the Walk-around Wizards from those guests dressed in their purchased wizards/witches clothing? Both would be wearing as close to authentic clothing from the movies, one would think..... except in the middle of the summer.

The two have barely said 3 sentences to each other since Chamber of Secrets. I'm sorry, but looks and such aren't a set up when the characters barely interact in 3 movies.

Man...everytime someone talks about HP I get more and more excited about it.

AA Basilisk?! YAY!

Hmm ... so as a Disney CM if I asked you 'What will YOU celebrate?' in 2010, your answer would be 'Harry Potter!' ... is that right?

OMG, if a boat ride like El Rio del Tiempo had a Superspeed Tunnel, that would possibly be a more than acceptable substitute for hallucinogenic drugs.

I don't think mexicans have superspeed tunnels... yet. :lookaroun
They do have tequila worms to answer your hallucinogenic question.

Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of hell a-glowing?
Is the grisly reaper mowing?
Yes, the danger must be growing
'Cause the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing.

All we need are some AA Oompa Loompas on the side of the boat and you've got an awesome boat ride!

Not really Mexican I suppose, but who cares!

Chumba wumba gobbledy goo
Life isn't fair
Its sad but its true
Chumba wumba gobbledy gee
When your poor legs are stiff as a tree

What do you do when your stuck in a chair?
Finding it hard to go up and down stairs
What do you think of the one you call god?
Isn't his absence slightly odd?
Maybe he's forgotten you

Chumba wumba gobbledy gorse
Count yourself lucky your not a horse
They would turn you into dog food
Or into chumba wumba gobbledy glue

So he's done something wrong by being excited by something other than a Disney product? Wowie.
