Breaking News: Space Mountain Rehab

I'm not calling you *or* your friend a liar. My point is you're interpreting his memory of a past conversation. You're not even interpreting the actual conversation itself. There's no doubt that no one is lying as far as I'm concerned. My feeling is there is a certain amount of "reading too much into what was said" that has brought us to this point.

With Lassiter at the helm, they're not looking for penny-pinchers. I've seen the full plans for Carsland (and no, it hasn't been cut back as other rumors suggest. It's big-time, and big money. Don't assume because things haven't been good that it's how they always will be. THAT is my point.

When I see attractions like Carsland coming to the parks that aren't in the tubes like DCA, I'll believe you. Carsland and the DCA enhancements are a necessary step to save a park. Show me a new, original exciting attraction coming to a Florida park and I'll believe you.

So because the park sucks, it doesn't count as a good attraction? It was still designed and funded by the same company who have made some pretty missed pitches that include but are not limited to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Cabellaros.

With all due respect, I'm not here seeking approval or to become "believed." I share the information I have when I am able to share it. If you take something away from that, fantastic. If you choose not to believe me, I am completely ok with that. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Yea thats pretty much my point. If I had to guess, the person asking the interview is not looking for an a) or b) answer to that question.

That's what I suspect; it falls in line with the old Lightbulb question.

But if she really did badmouth Baxter as an example, she should enjoy her new job when WDI cleans house...and it's coming...

Oh no, I think it looks like it is going to be a fantastic attraction. I would love to ride it if I could afford to fly out to CA. But my point is they NEEDED to build a fantastic attraction at DCA. WDW's attendance is doing fairly well, so they feel like they can just shoehorn crap into it and people will still come.

I want WDW to get the same treatment. I will gladly say I'm wrong if we get some great attractions, but I'm not too optimistic.

And I'm not trying to attack you or anything. You seem to have insider knowledge, and I hope you ARE right. But everything I've heard points to the opposite, and it's just not from my one friend.

I like the three Cabs. They couldn't really make the ride any worse than it already was.

I'm sure of this. It was the one thing that shocked me beyound belief. And if the house cleaning is coming, I'm glad.

And, csm, I apologize. I feel like I came of as a bit of an . It's just been something I've been mad about for a while and I was venting a little. Hope there's no hard feelings.

Not true. They could've put Stitch in there.

I know.

You heard countless "Oh, why don't they respect the animated classics in rides" Anti-Pixar schlock day in and day out, they give an aging ride a nice treatment based on an obscure Disney animated classic that isn't exactly popular but fits the pavilion perfect (and keep many of the EPCOT Center elements in place) and what do they say?

Not good enough.

I actually preferred the hookey, cheesey, awful original version. It was so dumb that I loved it :D

I loved it too, but you can't slam something because it's not as dumb as the old version.

Truthfully my problem with Gran Fiesta Tour is that it is completely depedant on video screens. I HATE things that are all projection (unless, of course it's a movie at which point you walk in expecting and understanding that). Truthfully (and I'm fully preparped for this to open a whole new can of worms) I don't like The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at all. In development, it was annoucned to have animatronics, tons of physical effects, intricately detailed sets, etc. What it ended up being is a movie theater on wheels. That, to me, does not make the greatest attraction in the world. It has nothing to do with being Unviersal (or any one that might have bought it for that matter) - it's strictly that it realies on the virtual rather than the actual.

Even though for the most part, aside from a very few spots, El Rio del Tiempo already HAD all those screens in place, to me they never seemed like the story. They seemed like they were there to enhance everything else. On Gran Fiesta Tour, they very clearly are 100% of the story. Plus I like the old music more than the new ride's :p

Aside from the noisy creepy- puppets at the end, El Rio was JUST as dependent on screens.

People's minds Try and explain it all they want, but the only reason for not liking Gran Fiesta is that it's NOT El Rio.

I can see that. Personally Spider-man is my favorite attraction in any park, but I probably would've liked it much more if there was a Spidey AA. Off topic...but is HP gonna have AAs? Please say yes.

Definitely. EDT had awesome music. But just as in Spidey, I would've loved if there were AA 3 Cabs at the finale instead of just another screen.

1400 is not a very high capacity at all. That's around Soarin's capacity. Rides like Splash Mountain, are closer to 2000 if I'm not mistaken, with omnimovers like SSE and Haunted Mansion higher than that.
Think much lower for Soarin'. ;) (and a bit lower in general.)
