Wow. But how are people getting around who don't have cars? Or they are not? (or taking a taxi) This is crazy and hope it is a false alarm.

They aren't. People are going to be mad but it's a safety issue and you can't do anything about it. Plus, everyone is already getting free food so there's not too much you can complain about.

Free food if you were staying onsite.
And if you can get to where your ADR was.

they haven't said, but I would assume that other bus companies, such as Mears and American Coach are going to be utilized, but you can bet that there will be LONG waits for buses from the parks back to the resorts

Wesh update #2

The Orange County Sheriff's Office bomb squad is investigating a device found under a bus at Disney World.
The resort has suspended bus service, a Disney spokeswoman said at 5:30 p.m.

A worker doing maintenance on the bus noticed the device and alerted authorities, the Sheriff's Office said Thursday shortly after 5 p.m.
The bomb squad and a hazardous material team are on the scene, which is reported near Disney's Animal Kingdom but far from places where guests visit. Disney said it has stopped all bus service for at least two hours as other buses are checked.

Hours at the Animal Kingdom were extended to 7 p.m., since guests who rely on buses can't get transportation.

The view from Chopper 2 shows emergency vehicles around a large building. A member of the bomb squad went into the building.
Dozens of buses can be seen lined up near another Disney work facility.
The incident is the latest in a series of incidents at Disney World. In July, a monorail pilot died when another monorail crashed into his near the Magic Kingdom. A stuntman died during a rehearsal of the Indiana Jones show in August at Disney's Hollywood Studios

News 13 update

News 13 has received word of a suspicious package on a Disney bus.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the device was found on a bus near Disney's Animal Kingdom around 3 p.m. Thursday.

The bus was in for routine maintenance at the maintenance facility.

That's when Disney workers found something suspicious attached to the undercarriage of a bus.

The bomb squad is on the scene right now to check out the device.

The maintenance facility has been evacuated as a precaution.

News 13 has learned all Disney bus operations has been temporarily suspended.

Disney is doing this to make time to check all their buses and their fleet.

They plan on putting each bus back into service after it passes inspection.

Disney released the following statement:

"Safety of guest and cast members is top priority and Disney apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause their guest and they will address there concerns on a case by case basis."

First off, I hope everything is okay and this was a stupid prank or there is a very large dead racoon lodged under the bus. But this:

Has nothing to do with the current story.

Are they driving all the buses to one place to do the searching? I wouldn't want to be driving one of those buses. I'd be nervous as you know what even though its hopefully nothing.

100% true, but do you expect anything less?

Yes, they are bringing them to a different facility. Bring the buses to the people who can check them, not the other way around. Especially when bringing the buses to the facility gets them out of guest areas should anything happen.

Edit: Shouldn't have assumed it was the bomb squad checking them.
