Brazil to join the World Showcase at Epcot

Honestly, I'd go on educational rides rather then the common Disney tie in attractions that should be in the other three parks, but thats just me.

Although, on the subject matter, it's horribly depressing when original attractions are usually ignored by the common park goer just because it doesn't have a Disney/Pixar character on it. It would be awful to think what they would do to the new Beastly Kingdom (If it's ever built that is)...

Pixar has produced most of the Disney content (movie-wise) that has actually been a smash hit for over 10 years now, so eh, that's why.

Plus Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback, Ratatouille, Cinderella, ect. are all set in France. I know I'm missing some.

Honestly- Yes.

Knowledge is a gift, and it's about high and damn time people start realizing themselves and bettering themselves, but that's a whole different thread.
I already had an interest when I first went to Epcot. I was a big devotee of World Cultures and the Future and for a 9 year old at the turn of the Millenium I was deeply moved by Spaceship Earth and I was literally crying during Reflections of Earth and after my first day at Epcot I left wanting to make the world a better place with my naive 9 year old mind. So Epcot is very personal to me.

Did you learn anything? Or did you just have fun?

You guys would not want the trackless Ratatouille? :O

This is odd. Maybe I'm weird, but I'd snatch that in a heart beat.

I don't go to a theme park to gain knowledge, sorry. :( I go to have the time of my life. :)

I do want it just not in Epcot I would like to see the trackless system used in the JII refurb though.

Exactly. It's a moving and amazing place.

Our experiences have many parallels.

Did you learn anything? Or did you just have fun?

You can do both, I hope you know...

I think we live parallel lives- this entire paragraph is true for me as well. I was the crying nine year-old next to you.

My brother was four at the time- and we didn't meet any characters or any of that. He wasn't bored with SSE or the "Seacabs". We did the EPCOT stuff, and it was enough. I think Disney might underestimate children sometimes. They don't need "kids stuff", in fact they prefer to be treated just like the adults. There are many wonderful Walt quotes on the subject. If only they just remembered what it was like to be a child! It's not that hard to do. The original EPCOT ideals were great for children- they are curious and want to discover things. They will have fun and learn along the way. Now, they are playing down to the children. And if you keep patronizing them, they will become, sadly, less willing to discover and learn.

It's possible to do both.

If UoE were more relevant in terms of Stars, it would be the perfect example.

Ellen is still a star :fork: but yea I agree. Epcot is on that fine line of thrill and educating (if there wasn't a line before then there is now :D). I find the 360 films boring, I never stay for Maelstrom's film, and I barely remember what UoE teaches you. I mostly just remember the dinos, the preshow, and the finale. I forgot what's the most abundant energy source. Knowledge?:veryconfu

UOE is just close to 20 years behind the times. I love meeting characters and all the dark rides and MK might be passing EC as my favorite if EC doesn't get back on track. Nemo was hard for me to accept but the WS, it just seems wrong to me to have characters.

Well said!...It's very true.

I know that...I meant about the time scale. It's stuck in the 1990's.

Pay attention?:shrug::rolleyes:

Heck, I still don't accept Nemo. That DOES NOT fit.:fork:

I should have worded that differently I don't accept it but it's a lost cause. The shame is it's a nice c or d ticket and would be great in DHS or DAK.

I don't understand all these character tie ins at EC because the park never had issues drawing in people. To think that Nemo and even though he is my fav Donald, would bring in more people is crazy. The yearly attendance has hardly changed.

This is the aregument that can't be beat, there are three other parks for that stuff.
