Rumor Brazil (and maybe others) Pavilion Coming to Epcot [not about Brazilian people nor a country wish list]

Except Italy. With all of the history and culture in Italy, that pavilion really should be better.
So true. That pavilion is the weakest of all and doesn't even come close to capturing the essence of that country. I guess the imagineers were running out of time on their research trip to Europe. They got dropped off in St. Mark's Square in Venice, took a couple of pictures and said "this'll do".

There was supposed to be a whole extra area at the back of the pavilion. Like the German river ride, it was also dropped.

I just love the fact St Mark’s is the wrong way round! I’d like to think the story that someone took the negative and worked off that is true. 😂 But it makes me smile every time I see it.

The food has been mentioned frequently, but besides instruments, what kind of unique items can be sold in the shop? Think Germany's crystal, bears, and steins, Japan's kimonos, tea sets, and gis, Mexico's wooden sculptures, salsas, and leather, or Morocco's tagines, lanterns, and rugs. I'm noticing the fact that I can instantly remember these parts of the identity of these pavilions show how I rate them. XD

And is there a part of Brazilian culture that can work as a lounge? Like how the UK's pub or the upcoming US smokehouse are part of theirs.

The show is great, but the theatre is ill-fitting with the theme and closes it off from the lagoon, the food options are currently lackluster when so much can be done, and the shopping options are near nil. The show's impressiveness is the only reason it's rated as high as it is. Of course, this is understanding given they originally didn't even want to include an American pavilion, but it still suuuuuuuucks.

Having been to Brazil and married to a Brazilian, my favorite things to get from Brazil are soaps and perfumes. Boticaro is a major perfume company with gorgeous affordable scents. I’m sure they’d also have soccer jerseys, Havana’s (flip flops), and coffee (it would make an awesome gift to bring to someone). Maybe they’d sell cachaca too-Brazilian rum

I appreciate your opinion (though I dislike how low American Adventure is for you ;) ). My list was in no way truly correct, since like you, I enjoy pursuing the shops in Germany and Japan. I just know they could be better with the addition of some kind of permanent attraction (that isn’t a M&G) that they were meant to have all along.

@Pinkpearl I was literally about to ask what you would want in a Brazilian pavilion, since you have way more insight in this as someone from Brazil. I appreciate your opinions on this!

What would be popular shop items? Also, are our ideas of Brazilian steakhouses (lots and lots of meat) correct, or is that what Americans think Brazilian food is like?
The steak houses are very similar! The ones I've been to here are great (aside from price. Waaay expensive)
Popular shop items? Hmmm varies a lot.
Havaianas?
Camisetas (shirts)
Comics.
Coffee.
Futebol jerseys

Usually varies by the store. Can never tell what would be popular.

I'd love it if they have a coxinha stand or someone serving up coconut milk or water.

(This girl may keep editing and adding things)
chup chups
Açai (ice cream or bowls. Both delicious)

All part of an epic finale that puts PotC’s burning town to shame :)
Yes Italy definitely needs something. One of my favorites here in Disneyland is Pinocchio so maybe we can get that (or a new version) since Disney only wants to use IP these days lol. The classic fan in me would say an epic ride about Rome though.

These are great ideas! Personally, I was think boat down the Amazon (Maelstrom level thrills).

If us fans came come up with good ideas, I would think the imagineers could come up with a great attraction. Unfortunately, all the ideas they come up with are probably mandated to feature an IP.

I really hope Disney is learning they need more rides. New rides bring in the guests. They all don’t have to be 400 million dollar, super E-tickets. Well-done C and D tickets are needed too.

Disney also need to figure out that they don’t need to build a whole land, just to add an attraction. The Hogsmede/Diagon Alley success made Disney change their mindset. Disney has so many themed areas they can just add to them. A Lion King dark ride in Africa, upgraded and themed Dino coaster, Imagination redo, putting a proper attraction in the former Animation building, including rides at their new pavilions (Play and Brazil) and adding rides/attractions to the attraction-less WS pavilion.

Oh and stop cutting the extra things that take a land/attraction to the next level. We notice.

but that alone should not be the pavilion... Here in South Florida I can buy any Brazilian product I want at a dozen import shops...or Brazilian grocery stores...a Restaurant and a shop are a very lame attempt at a pavilion...and Italy, Germany. the UK Pavilion and Morocco would have all benefitted from having their attractions added.. I daresay they would not have had to recreate the main spine of Future World if they had just added an attraction to each country...

And, even here, I can get Mexican food And candy anywhere but its still there. Its to experience a bit of the country its themed on. Not having stuff you can't get anywhere else.

If I really wanted havaianas, I could order online.

I agree, it should have a ride but.....

Canada probably would've had a log flume ride if Brother Bear had been more successful. It's a shame because that park needs a mildly thrilling water ride, as does DHS but they can't do it without the IP to cross-market and merchandise.... I mean moychendising, that's where the real money is made.

The thing is a raft/boat ride in Canada wouldn’t have to be IP. Canadian timber mill, a white water trip down fishing streams or northern adventure through glaciers would all be great settings/themes. No IP required.

I even heard at one point they were thinking about turning O’Canada into a restaurant. They just don’t understand the guests perspective. It’s disappointing to say the least.

I’m 100% on board that Brazil exists and is being announced today (I shudder to think the big poster reveals are a UK Carousel and an Alice Maze).

But, if it isn’t, I might have to concede that something is seriously troubled. If it’s been dropped from two consecutive D23’s, especially the one dedicated to Epcot’s transformation. With the certainty people have talked about this Pavilion being, I can’t come up with a logical reason they won’t talk about it.

I have two tiny sources that say it very well will be announced today but they're not 100%.

My cousin saying someone in sao Paulo recruiting is her word.
And then that tweet from a few pages ago. I saw that live before it was taken down.

I know last D23 they were doing research surveys and in 2011 the newspaper in Brazil reported on it.
I didn't know they had removed it from the docket before then .

As far as I know. It's still happening today

Good points but I’m also someone that prefers attractions and think Brazil should definitely have one. I’d love an Amazon boat ride. Maybe show how people live along the river.

An attraction would be great! It would be a big positive... hopefully. The two current rides kind of detract from their pavilions. A good quality attraction would be great!

Nevertheless I'm not saying having a great attraction wouldn't be a boon. I'm just saying an attraction doesn't make or break a pavilion. A pavilion can still be worthwhile without it. Norway used to have a large shop with local goods and flair, a ride representative of the country's culture, a buffet, an exhibit, and a bakery. Now, the ride represents an IP which has overtaken more and more of the gift shop and the buffet has become a way to meet princesses. It could be better if the inspiration of the land on the movie were focused on, but it's not really addressed at all. If Brazil has a ride that does the same, it could be better if it didn't have one. But I suppose it depends on if you care about the World Showcase... well... showcasing the world, or if you just want things to do, people to move through, and more money in the company's pocket.

I got off track there, but it's more talk about the entire conversation that's been happening. Nevertheless, I think I outlined ways that a pavilion can be interesting and really *be* an attraction without having a ride. It's not like a ride is the only thing that makes a pavilion worthwhile.

I miss Akerhus. I know it’s still there, but I have no desire to have a M&G dinner just to access the buffet. I remember having a pretty fantastic Easter lunch there as a kid.
