Rumor Brazil (and maybe others) Pavilion Coming to Epcot [not about Brazilian people nor a country wish list]

I miss Akerhus. I know it’s still there, but I have no desire to have a M&G dinner just to access the buffet. I remember having a pretty fantastic Easter lunch there as a kid.
Funny story. I actually delayed proposing bc of how disappointing Akershus is. Had to wait till the following week when Le Celier came through clutch. Probably the right decision lol.

An attraction would be great! It would be a big positive... hopefully. The two current rides kind of detract from their pavilions. A good quality attraction would be great!

Nevertheless I'm not saying having a great attraction wouldn't be a boon. I'm just saying an attraction doesn't make or break a pavilion. A pavilion can still be worthwhile without it. Norway used to have a large shop with local goods and flair, a ride representative of the country's culture, a buffet, an exhibit, and a bakery. Now, the ride represents an IP which has overtaken more and more of the gift shop and the buffet has become a way to meet princesses. It could be better if the inspiration of the land on the movie were focused on, but it's not really addressed at all. If Brazil has a ride that does the same, it could be better if it didn't have one. But I suppose it depends on if you care about the World Showcase... well... showcasing the world, or if you just want things to do, people to move through, and more money in the company's pocket.

I got off track there, but it's more talk about the entire conversation that's been happening. Nevertheless, I think I outlined ways that a pavilion can be interesting and really *be* an attraction without having a ride. It's not like a ride is the only thing that makes a pavilion worthwhile.
But what does a Brazil pavilion offer if no attraction is included? The 200th restaurant in Epcot, a shop and a pretty place to Instagram from?
I can pick from 10 Brazilian restaurants in my area, why pay the Disney up-charge prices for something I can get at home. I love browsing at the shops in WS (especially Japan), but that’s not going to bring GP guests in. It won’t.

For the price a new WS pavilion will cost, it seems like a waste, especially if Disney is hoping to drive attendance. A food place, shop and pretty background are not going to cut it.

One thing about Brazil is that unlike other pavilions - Japan springs to mind - I don’t see an attraction fitting in as naturally at EPCOT. Brazil is a cultural power as much as anything and I’d be most interested in a pavilion that reflected that vibrancy. Instead of a dark ride through the Amazon or something - which is an Animal Kingdom type of idea - I would LOVE to see, like, a daily Carnivale in the pavilion, a mini-parade of music and costumes.

Then we can put in the Fujicoaster. :)

Where the crap do you live? Braziltown?

Do you consider Italy, China, and Mexico to be worthwhile locations, because I can go to one of a dozen of any of those locations and get better than I can get at World Showcase. I've never seen a Brazilian living around here and there was once a Brazilian steakhouse in the Palisades Mall, but that closed over a decade ago.

Of course, there's also the cast members and shows and overall experience and culture and atmosphere and the stuff I spent a couple hours writing about at 2am. And the fact that there are so many parts of the world not represented and finally breaking through the "Sir Walter Raleigh Memorial It Hasn't Happened In Forever So It'll Never Happen Barrier" is nice.

Indianapolis, the heart of the Mid-west. Not really known for our food-savvy, but we do love our steaks!

Indiana must have a big immigrant population?
Because there is only one Brazil food place where I live and I know the managers. Anywhere else here is over four hours away in new Orleans. A port city where there are a ton TON of different restaurants and places.

Anywhay, the whole point of the pavilion is to learn more about the people and culture. NOT about rides.
If it gets a ride? Cool! But it'll be great on its own.
And a carnaval parade on a smaller scale would be cool.
A good attraction for kids. The costumes and music would be fun!

More underwhelming than I expected but I guess if I lived in a bubble and didn't know most of it I'd be more interested. I found the whole panel to be a mess from start to now. Meh. It was so poorly done. So much of that could have just been a lawyer approved blog post. But we knew what to expect going in. Would have been nice to get more surprises. I think they've kind of overmilked, so to speak, the current projects.

Apparently the second poster was for World Celebration.

I totally agree.
but that alone should not be the pavilion... Here in South Florida I can buy any Brazilian product I want at a dozen import shops...or Brazilian grocery stores...a Restaurant and a shop are a very lame attempt at a pavilion...and Italy, Germany. the UK Pavilion and Morocco would have all benefitted from having their attractions added.. I daresay they would not have had to recreate the main spine of Future World if they had just added an attraction to each country...
I totally agree. My post was in response to someone asking what merchandise the pavilion could have.. I think the whole thing would be wasteful without an attraction. So many possibilities with the sights of Brazil.
