Is there ANYONE who would actually be a good choice for the next CEO or are we just waiting for Iger 3.0?

For a company so big and beloved, why is the CEO standards so low?

Iger let Rhode blow a ton of money…so did Eisner for that matter…
He may have quit due to chapek…but Rhode is more of the problem than a solution

If it were not for Rohde, Animal Kingdom would not be the best themed park in the United States. If it were not for Rohde, Pandora would have likely been seen as a public failure. It's telling that Mission Breakout, under the creative leadership of Rohde, is the only Marvel themed attraction that was helmed competently.

Out of control costs for theme parks is a good thing with the right leadership. Those costs might hurt in the short-term, but the initial investment is priceless for how it bolsters the experience and brand. EPCOT Center was one of the best theme parks to ever exist and far exceeding its budget reflected that. Yet, Disney today can only waste money. It's astounding for as expensive as Galaxy's Edge is, how underwhelming the overall creation seems to be.

First…it’s not the best theme park in the United States…card Walker built that down the street

And I don’t want to get into it…but a lot of imagineering rot is because they became detached from the logistics of what they were doing and decided they had no limits on how they operated

He’s the poster child for that

I think they meant “themed” park not theme park. I would agree that animal kingdom has on point theming. It holds up well.

Dak is a great concept…that still isn’t complete.

Blowing the budget by about a billion will do that.

Epcot did something like that too…but they pushed through and got more done. Just shows how things have changed over time and why balancing “art” with function is necessary.

Actually, I take that back. Dinoland USA is potentially my least favorite thing in a theme park. I never had a chance to experience Epcot in its prime (I’m too young).

Yup and now they’re dismantling the “awesome” taco displays in the lagoon…so wasted $$$ there to.
