Yes, thank you for the excellent summary.

As a courtesy to those joining late to the party, here's the rundown so you don't have to wade through the previous 28 pages:

Cantina - 2015
Leia and the Seven Tie Fighter coaster - 2016
Millenium Falcon walkthrough, like the 20k submarine walkthrough of DLP - 2017?
Indy Stunt Show to be moved, maybe to the area behind LMA, maybe to share theater with the new FoTLK in DAK - 2018

My source is AJHLS. Always name your source, or else false rumours will spread, I learned this when I was a NYTC correspondent.

I heard they're replacing the castle with Indy. My source is, as always, 2 bus drivers for verification purposes.

I think the other problem is that he can come off like a Disney apologist. He's also been fed stuff through folks like Zenia, since he writes for HuffPo now, and Sith Lord Fitzgerald so there's clearly a distorted message there. Take for example his comments on Audio Animatronics, that kind of thinking comes from folks in WDI management like Fitzgerald. Much like trying to build excellent attractions for the domestic market, WDI has written it off because it's too "expensive" and that they are overrated.

I've read Jim Hill and this site and I agree, I don't think anyone gives him grief about rumors ... it's because of his arrogance but most recently it's because he's flip flopped into being an apologist.

Did anyone else read that article last year that basically said TDO is doing great and spending tons of money and fans should just be silent (I'm paraphrasing of course). That article really rubbed me in a way I didn't like :)/) ... he misapplied information and distorted how funds are spent to support his claims. It was very poor writing and logic used and I just felt like he should have known better.

It was a very amusing piece because it was BS apology spin. The worst part about Jim as of late is his "Editor's Notes" responding to comments. Like the example I posted, not only is there clear arrogance, but just plain meanness.
Por ejemplo from the article you cited
Shame on you Jim for defending the absolutely deplorable way TDO has managed WDW this past decade. I am truly disgusted with today's article.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Seriously? The word you use is "disgusted" ? So the $300 - $400 million being spent on the Fantasyland expansion doesn't matter to you? Likewise the $100 million plus used to turn the long-abandoned Legendary Years wing of Disney's Pop Century into the most Disney-centric resort on property, Disney's Art of Animation Resort.
This is why I often find it impossible to talk with fanbois when it comes to the Disney theme parks. Their views are so extreme. They can't seem to grasp that every ride can't be Space Mountain, that every hotel can't be the Grand Flo. The concept that the Walt Disney World Resort is intended to appeal to a genuinely wide variety of Guests with different tastes and standards is completely foreign to these folks. All they want is ... Well, what they already known. Pirates & Haunted Mansion. The sort of highly themed rides that were built back in the mid-to-late 1960s.
You do understand that that was almost 50 years ago now? And that tastes have changed.

More to the point, I just don't understand the fanbois community need to turn every executive who works in the Team Disney Orlando building into some comic book villain. As if these people sit at their desks all day, laughing manically as they rub their hands together, looking for ever more ways to cheap out when it comes to new attractions and resorts.

You do understand that that's not how it works? That -- while The Walt Disney Company is a business -- there are people who work in TDO who understand WDW's heritage when it comes to delivering a quality Guest experience and do everything that they can to protect & preserve the Resort's reputation?
But having an actual adult conversation about this issue, trying to be thoughtful and reasonable when it comes to this sort of discussion, that isn't nearly as much fun as -- say -- "Shame on you" to me, calling today's article "deplorable" and/or insinuating that everyone who works at TDO is either a greedy or a moron, now is it?

Think he sleeps with his press credential tucked under his pillow?

Probably, I really don't see any other way he can still get invited to these things. His site gets almost no traffic when compared to MAGIC, MiceChat/MiceAge, SM 1 and 2. Maybe Zenia feels bad for him. Also, it's not like HuffPo actually values its staff, so he could be gone like that.

Plenty of times, number of readers hardly seems to be a criteria to be invited.

Not defending Jim, but I think he has had to alter his approach and tactics and things he writes in dealing with Disney, lest he would be barred from the kinds of access and information he gets. Perhaps he has become an apologetic, but it may be in order to preserve the relationship he has with insiders. Keep in mind too, he's closer to a journalist than many of the other Disney fan communities who are just considered bloggers.

There's a huge difference between HP blogger and HP staff, don't get them confused. Bloggers are kept on as long as they want as long as they want to post, there's no guiding editorial vision for them, just to make great content on their own and if they are lucky, it gets promoted heavily on the site. They are also unpaid.

Exciting news, when did this all go down? I thought it was a false speech or something like that?

I partially agree, Jim does have, or rather had, good, honest sources. However, folks like the Kirks, Tim Delaney, Baxter, Valerie Edwards and others at WDI have been fired. So he's sorta in a pickle since Sith Lord Fitzgerald is likely one of his highest remaining sources at WDI. Let's keep this in mind, folks like @WDW1974, @marni1971 and @Lee still have sources in WDI and they don't seem particularly desperate to kowtow to WDI talking points like AAs are passe. But a far more apt comparison would be MiceChat, even with two of their top sources, Tony Baxter and Georgie K, gone, they still get solid info from all levels of P&R that hasn't been processed down to pro Disney drivel. Sure, Al, Dusty and Co are larger than Jim, but there's a reason why Jim has left every Disney fan site (Al Lutz's MousePlanet, Laughin' Place, etc.) he has written for. The guy burns bridges.
