And this is what leads to reporting tweets as verified news.......Welcome to now.
Thanks, but I'll stay in yesterday. It was easier to recognize the truth back then. Now...is crap! There was no where near the amount of BS one has to sort through now. We might have been informed more slowly, but, we were better informed when it got to us, in my opinion.

Agreed. The news reports anything now. They will say t is unconfirmed, but still report it.

The urge to be first has overtaken the need to be correct.

It was better when they waited and gave people actual information.

It's not about 'first' but you have to be on the wave.. If your customer hears of story.. and goes to your site for more info and can't find story.. eventually they won't return to you.

The 'being left out' can be just as damning as being wrong.
That's a fair point. Now I've been guilty of both sides of this in the past. I've reported that Carsland was green lit because I got information from a source I thought to be credible.

Conversely, my old site was also the first to post the details of the Avatar plans, we used discretion to protect the source but someone else got a hold of blueprints and simply posted them. We may have been first, but we showed restraint and gained nothing.

Media is in a sad state these days. The customers want sensational news right now. Unfortunately, that is not always the most accurate or responsible way to do it. The problem is that so many people are out there willing to give the public exactly what they want, consequence be damned, and those doing it correctly go out of business.

The problem is expectations and lack of common sense in the public. Basically 'you can't handle the truth'

Sites can report information as 'evolving' or 'incomplete' or 'unconfirmed' - but the stupid people in this country filter out the important words and just take tidbits and run with them. They do it with confirmed news too.. but this is even worse because they lose the important disclaimers and then spread the misinformation further.

People are too eager to jump on hype.. even when the hype isn't manufactured.

...hype...he said 'jump on hype'...this refers to hyperspace...which means Star Wars is coming after all...

"Don't blindly believe what I say. Don't believe me because others convince you of my words. Don't believe anything you see, read, or hear from others, whether of authority, religious teachers or texts. Don't rely on logic alone, nor speculation. Don't infer or be deceived by appearances."
"Do not give up your authority and follow blindly the will of others. This way will lead to only delusion."
"Find out for yourself what is truth, what is real. Discover that there are virtuous things and there are non-virtuous things. Once you have discovered for yourself give up the bad and embrace the good."

I can't believe this discussion is still alive.
There's nothing more to see here, can we not just move on?

Close the thread already! The only people still wanting to discuss are the ones who believed the rumors to be true and now mad and wanting to blame somebody. Blame yourself for giving so much credence to a rumor originally reported by (alleged) Castmembers.
Glad to see that you are staying in character! :D

Honestly, this is why Jim Hill has given so much crap on sites like this. He deals in rumors and the stage of development isn't always clear when he brings them up. On occasion, even if he is clear new developments are always in such a great state of flux that what may be true today is no longer true tomorrow.

I think the other problem is that he can come off like a Disney apologist. He's also been fed stuff through folks like Zenia, since he writes for HuffPo now, and Sith Lord Fitzgerald so there's clearly a distorted message there. Take for example his comments on Audio Animatronics, that kind of thinking comes from folks in WDI management like Fitzgerald. Much like trying to build excellent attractions for the domestic market, WDI has written it off because it's too "expensive" and that they are overrated.

So, the land is opening in phases? I guess it will be cool to have the Mos Eisley Cantina in 2015 and the dueling X-Wing/Tie Fighter coaster in 2016. No date on the Death Star Walk through? I like how the meet and greets will take place in the Millennium Falcon. Still not sure how they're keeping the Stunt show.....

Time to move this to chit chat since its neither news nor rumour anymore?
R E A L L Y, Sir! Harrumph! You think that my delightful and, with all due humility, wise observations should only be considered Chit/Chat. I am thoroughly insulted.o_O Meet me on the dueling field sir. Just don't bring your camera, I don't want this to be on You Tube as a Tribute next week. :p

Yes, thank you for the excellent summary.

As a courtesy to those joining late to the party, here's the rundown so you don't have to wade through the previous 28 pages:

Cantina - 2015
Leia and the Seven Tie Fighter coaster - 2016
Millenium Falcon walkthrough, like the 20k submarine walkthrough of DLP - 2017?
Indy Stunt Show to be moved, maybe to the area behind LMA, maybe to share theater with the new FoTLK in DAK - 2018
