I know for a fact the local media has NOT been alerted to any big announcement at DHS tonight. I just got off the phone with my assignment desk and they have heard nothing at CFNEWS13.True. But they did have a big press conference, loaded with media.
Any media presence at DHS today?
If not....
I wish it was a "hat's off" announcement. See what i did there? lolInteresting.
My hat's off to them if they can surprise us. It would be a masterpiece of secrecy.
It's the day Star Wars came out in '77.Given that it's "May the Fourth" day ???

I was gonna tag you about that.I know for a fact the local media has NOT been alerted to any big announcement at DHS tonight. I just got off the phone with my assignment desk and they have heard nothing at CFNEWS13.

Like not having the media at a media event?Interesting. Maybe they're trying something new...

If they go Star Wars, it will have been a fairly recent decision. I don't know of anyone at WDI working on Star Wars for DHS. Hence why I said it would likely be a lift from the Paris plans.

Possibly but then why fly to DHS? Why not make the announcement at DLR?Maybe an official announcement that the big three have been signed for Episode VII.

The lack of media coverage suggests nothing will happen. Conversely, Iger being at DHS on "May the Fourth" day would be just bad PR if nothing Star Wars happens. If Burbank is that clueless about the significance of the date, then I truly dread what they are going to do with Star Wars. There's got to be at least one Star Wars geek on Iger's staff.
If it turns out there was a misunderstanding and Iger wasn't at DHS today, then we worked ourselves into a tizzy over nothing.
Duh...my bad. I knew that, back in the recesses of my brain.Actually, Star Wars came out on May 25, 1977.
