BO in WDW

I take a travel-sized deodorant and re-apply whenever I need to....and I spray body splash on myself for that extra insurance :lookaroun

What a stinky thread :hammer:

Edit: I use Lady Mitchum too :ROFLOL: and it's great for my sensitive skin.

However, in the parks, I use a Dove deodorant I've had and it still works fine...but with Lady Mitchum I don't need to re-apply for a while.

I'm one of those rare people that sweats a lot, but doesn't smell. I used to be paranoid that I would reek, but I've been friend/family tested - even after looking like I fell in a large puddle I don't smell. I'm just damp.

I never thought of trying the "womens" secret.. tempting.

I can say the Red Zone antipersperant makes me break out into a scary burning painful rash. I guess i'll have to make sure they don't share an ingredient. Also, the under-clown-makeup stuff i'm amazed i've never heard of. Done a lot of theater work and i'm always a makeup artists worst nightmare (don't even consider putting temp color in my hair unless you want to ruin a costume with fresh tiedye).

Anywho, happy thoughts, I think i'm going to CVS.

I control the sweating in the underarm region, I actually use a seperate Anti-Perspirant called Certain Dri. Its applied at night right before you go to bed, and after you use it for a couple days it greatly cuts down on the amount your underarms sweat. So that helps, then I use a whatever deoderant/anti-perspirant I am using at the time. For some reasons I gain an immunity to certain deoderant/anti-perspirants over time and have to switch brands every now and then.
But give Certain Dri a try sometime, its sold in a white box in the Deoderant aisle.

Anything by Right Guard works great. They have nearly a dozen different "strengths" but even the basic version works great on this 215 lb chunk of man. Also, IMO Right Guard smells the best by far. Sometimes I pack a couple of layers on and women think I am wearing cologne. I've tried several other brands and Right Guard smells and works the best for me.

Once, on a WDW trip, I ran out of Right Guard towards the end of the trip and had to borrow some of the GF's Secret for the day. The ads say "it's strong enough for a man" but that was a total lie as far as I was concerned. I feel sorry for whoever was with me inside my Mission: Space shuttle that day :dazzle: .

They are actually injecting Botox for excessive perspiration, in underarms, hands and feet. Seriously, no joke!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperhidrosis

(from Wikipedia)
Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®): Injections of the botulinum toxin are used to disable the sweat glands. The effects can last from 4-9 months depending on the site of injections. With proper anesthesia the hand and foot injections are almost painless. The procedure when used for underarm sweating has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and now some insurance companies pay partially for the treatments.[citation needed]

Good to know. When I get older, if I ever go in to get botox done on my face, I'll remember to ask for the face/armpits 2 for 1 deal. That way I can have the face of Don Johnson and the perspiration of Keira Knightley (who is way too pretty to ever sweat).

When the end of the earth comes, all that shall stand is Disney and Walmart. And the Walmarts will come together to form the MegaWalmart Zord, and Disney Parks and Properties will combine to form Giaganto Disney Bot. And they shall battle for the rest of time. Oh yes, it will be an awesome battle. Too bad no one will be around to see it...

I don't use deodorant at all while there; I just get as hot and stinky as I can get, then I go up to Splash Mountain, clear everyone out with my stench, and save myself 45 minutes in line without messing with fastpass. :D

By the way, JFYI, I only use deodorant when it's hot and sticky out, or I know I'll be sweating around others. I've heard that use of some types of deodorant can lead to breast cancer, so try to use deo in limited amounts. I know, anything these days can cause cancer, but it's just a little info for those of you who want to take precautions.

Crystal stuff

My hubby (who sweats A LOT) and I have switched from traditional deoderant/antiperspirants with that aluminum stuff to those mineral rock things. You can usually find it if you look hard in your local discount store or pharmacy, and it has no aluminum whats-it in it. You wet the rock and rub it under your arms. The mineral salts form a barrier on your skin (when you put it on absolutely CLEAN skin, like right after a shower) so that the bacteria that cause BO can't thrive. You still sweat, but it doesn't stink. Honest! Because my hubby is SOOO sweaty, he also uses a "natural" deoderant-only stick made by Tom's of Maine just for extra stink insurance. We live in Florida, and even when he's been working outside in the heat and humiditiy, he doesn't have BO (just a lot of sweat!).

The biggest reason we switched was that his old gel deoderant, with the aluminum stuff, left a crusty residue in the armpits of his shirts (even when they were clean), and we were throwing out and replacing his crusty, stinky shirts regularly. There is NO crusty residue with this crystal rock stuff, it's non-sticky, non-staining, unscented, and all around a pretty good product. AND one $5.99 stick lasts up to a full year.

Just my two cents!

RAUNCHY DISCLAIMER ---BEWARE!!!!!!!!!

Ok ,not sure is this is considered BO but........

Last time at WDW was in line at Peter Pan....

All was going well until a nice older lady right in front of us let the loudest, wettest, sloppiest fart I have ever heard in my 36 years on this Earth.

Now besides it making me grasp for what little breathable air was left it also made me become hysterical laughing since as she was killing the ozone layer with her stench she had the meanest mad looking face as she did it.:hurl: :hurl: :hurl:

Hey, it's not nice to talk about my grandma like that. She can't help it , it just seems to happen after she eats at Peco's Bills!:ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:

I found a product on a vacation several years ago---made in FLORIDA--called The Natural Deodorant Crystal. As an earlier poster stated, it contains no harmful aluminums, not to mention no glycols.....100% natural mineral salts. Manufactured by TCCD International out of Pompano Beach. A web address on my stick shows www.tccd.com. Good luck.

Being from Florida, Mitchum works the best out of all that were mentioned. But please take a shower at least twice a day. I have smelled some of you travelers from the North.

what brand of deodorant do you all find best to stop the sweating and smell while there?

Go to your local CVS or what ever you use and find an antipersperant called "Certain Dri". you put it on before you go to bed. It's quite strong so if you have very sensitive skin I wouldn't use it. then in the morning, you wear your usually under arm deoderant as usual.

My initials are BO... I thought this thread was about me:(

Sorry for the disappointment...but maybe you could meet my husband at the parks one day, then we would have BO & BS running loose at MK! Now wouldn't that be a fun line to stand in???

If you use this product at night, can you still shower in the morning?
Cause if I can't, the deal's off.
