Bad news from our friends at MiceAge...

So when you all say"nothing" is coming ....I assume you all want an e ticket before it's "something" right?
Nope, I want new wait time signs. Seriously, we just got new park maps. What more do you guys want. I mean, really, the park already has 6 rides! That's plenty. Throw in a couple of new highly themed trash cans, maybe a bench or 2 and we're good to go!

How trusted is MiceAge? Are they in bed with someone high-up at Disney, or are they the kind of site that posts stuff they heard from a cousin's college-roommate's ex-boyfriend who worked running the Teacups for one summer in 1998?

I don't really trust MiceAge much when it comes to WDW. Their sources seem to be from DLR anyway and their WDW info always tends to be dismissive or portraying things in a less positive light.

Note: I'm not saying that they are necessarily "wrong" about WDW, but I think their tendancy is to take any inside info about WDW and portray it in the worst possible light in their articles. In this instance, I strongly suspect that more Star Wars will be coming to WDW at some point, much like it will be in DLR, but it's possible that they have more/different issues to work through at WDW than at DLR which MiceAge is characterizing as "cancelled" as opposed to other possibilities.

This. I can't really say much because I do not follow MiceChat, but every time I follow a link to one of their updates from here, they have something negative to say about WDW 99.9% of the times (I am not referring to Kevin Yee, of course). I am not sure if I should believe what they are reporting or not. They certainly do not give a good impression to a WDW fan (and I am absolutely aware of how many things are wrong at WDW, but I also am aware of what's wrong at DLR).

Unfortunately, "insiders" are wrong or uninformed more often than not in terms of Disney Imagineering now. People harped and said that guy was right when Carsland was supposedly coming to DHS, no announcement of fart about that at all... I doubt anything pertinent is being posted at Miceage just based on the fact no one has been right about anything in years. believe what you will from whom, but facts are on my side on this one.

Disney doesn't have to build at WDW, they have absolutely no competition in Florida, attendance numbers alone proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt. People can and will jump on bandwagons, but facts are facts.

Jimmy Thick- Patience they say is a virtue.

Heres how I see it.... before Avatar was announced - who on any board, site or anywhere stood up and said 'something is avatar themed is coming to Animal Kingdom'

Also, Disney Springs - there were rumblings that something would have to be done.... but did anyone stand up and say a shopping mall is on the way?

These days it seems people sniff around ideas and publish thier dreams on the internet and everyone signs up that its coming for sure to Disney Parks

Nice theory... if the world started in 2011 - You ignore everything that happened prior to those instances.

Avatar is unique because it was a pet project by the CEO.. vs an organic project developed inhouse.

Then why are they building Avatar? And why all the money spent on My Magic+? If Disney has no competition they shouldn't need to spend huge amounts of money on these improvements.

Fantillusion? I've wondered about that too, particularly if Paris isn't using it.
Fant is only mothballed in Paris. Not dead.

Besides, two problems.

One - EDLSCA own it. If an American park wanted it they would have to literally buy it outright and pay for shipping.

Two - the electrical systems were converted to charge from 230v AC when it arrived in France. I'm no electrician but I know this was a huge and not inexpensive job.

Seven Dwarves Coaster, Avatar, and probably more attractions are in the works for WDW over the next 5 years. WDW pretty much is adding new attractions at the same rate they always have. I remember going to WDW throughout the supposed glory days of the mid-1980's, and WDW barely added anything new attractions throughout that entire span.

That's the problem. Many more attractions are in the works. If they get built is another matter. Monsters Coaster. Maelstrom overhaul. Country Bears overhaul. UOE overhaul. Imag4. Proper Space Mountain. All planned, all proposed. And all sat on a shelf collecting dust.

Mid 80s.... American Journeys, Morocco, Living Seas, Laserphonic Fantasy, IllumiNations, Skylaidescope, Surprise In the Skies, Norway....

Oh, and the whole D-MGM complex and surrounding resort area development. I suppose you could add Pleasure Island in at the end too. And the Grand Floridian. And the Caribbean Beach Resort.

Wait ... are you mentioning the Monsters Coaster as something that WAS planned and NOT built or as something that IS CURRENTLY STILL planned and NOT built?

Basically, is there still a sliver of hope for that seeing that light of day?

Of course I would like an e ticket but Disney world is more to most than just "rides". Unfortunately though regardless of what they do with Star Wars or avatarland (e tickets or not) it will never be good enough to many of those on this site
How dare us think that a $100/day theme park should be about rides. And the last par of you post is simply hyperbole stirred with a straw man.

Depends. It keeps popping up on the radar but is nowhere near the middle of the list let alone the top. It's changed more than once, I saw the complete blueprints for it and they were from 2008. Six years ago now and still nothing.

I believe it was proposed for where "Hot Set" is besides Midway Mania ... but ... when Bob Iger goes we may have someone willing to fight the board for actual investment in WDW...
