Bad news from our friends at MiceAge...

So when has MiceAge been right about something in Orlando?

Although they haven't said anything, but hasn't Orlando been pretty clear on their 'new attraction' roadmap, they are building 1 land/attraction at a time in 1 park, 1 Hotel/DVC at a time and Disney Springs. To assume that anything at the Studios would begin before the Animal Kingdom components begin to open seems foolish.

Regardless of what is and isn't green lit (and I already said months ago how tired I was of this "maybe..gonna...almost there...oh wait...BUT IT'S COMING..." DHS expansion talk) it's already 2014, no construction has started yet and we know Disney is slow to build. There's no way anything substantial is coming to WDW between the time MK gets its new ride and parade and Avatar opens in 2017.

Agree.

And Avatar opening in 2017 is a stretch ... didn't it take them three years to build this Seven Dwarves coaster?

Not so in the 90s...and its not like they can't afford to have expansions going on at the same time not only in 2 parks but all 4 parks. If anything they should stop building hotel rooms on property ...

Those "hotel rooms" are DVC and pay for themselves and then some very quickly

It isn't much of a stretch, if construction started yesterday (which it did) 3 years from now would be early 2017. It took Disney 3 years to build Carsland, so I think 2017 is a good guess on their part.

I hope so ...

P.S. I was trying to be critical of your timeline just taking the Seven Dwarves timeline and extrapolating for an entire land ...

I agree. I'm just stating what seems to look like their obvious intention. They aren't responding to UNI they are simply doing what they want at the pace they want to. And it doesn't look like that is going to be more than 1 attraction at a time.

The problem is when the "brain trust" saw timeshare and rubbing their hands in glee ... the easier option to establish brand loyalty and not have "way too much inventory" in the next 30 years was too establish a Disney Travel loyalty programme.

Actually not construction - destruction...its cheap and empty like most of the 'goons who work for TDO.

If there was "way too much inventory" then why wouldn't they just retrofit poly grand Florida and others into DVC rooms instead of adding on?

Your eyes told you they spread Snow White coaster out over 3 years to save money?

Dare I say those eyes must be "magical" :)

Most companies want to build stuff as quickly as possible to have it open for guests to use and consume ... not Disney though - it was announced in 2011 and it is 2014, spreading of the costs...
