Welcome back for real, 74. I look forward to your continued witty posts helping clear out all of the nonsense around here.

Was Black Swan a Disney film? Can't for the life of me remember what studio released it. It was great, though...

Welcome back 74 it is nice to see you posting the pixie dust was getting a little deep....

I loved my trip (four countries, two weeks at sea and the BEST accomodations possible for my three days at DLP!:king:), but am also happy to be home and have lots to catch up on ...

It does seem that there's lots of excitement at many theme parks this summer, including DLR and both UNI operations in the USA ... I so wish WDW had something new or exciting this summer instead of more of the same.

So ... what have I missed? :ROFLOL:

I think Cinemagique was updated just before your trip.

I never heard a thing about it happening (sorta thought it was perfect the way it was and it didn't need anything) ... so I was sorta shocked when the blue alien $ex kitten suddenly appeared as it was the first of the 'new' clips to appear.

I'm sure if and when Avland begins the pics will be all over the web. They won't hide this one if it goes as proposed.

I'll believe it when I see it at this point. ... and reading Brooks Barnes' report in the NYT didn't get me excited when he mentioned simulated flying since I know WDI's first pitch to Cameron was 'let's do Soarin over Pandora!'

Cinemagique is a great show - one that I had hoped would make its way to WDW. Agreed it is one of the best attractions at DSP - but that isn't saying much, as there are so few original attractions there.

I agree, but could never see it at WDW. Beyond the French/international take on film, there's the fact it shows mostly non-Disney films and I can just see the folks in the American Heartland's reaction when clips from films like the Exorcist and Black Swan are shown in a Disney attraction.

I actually like a fair amount of attractions at DSP. Armageddon is kewl for the special effects experience it is (have heard rumors it may be on its way out ... funny, I recall when it was a planned Phase II DCA addition!) ... and I enjoy Animagique and Crush's Coaster a lot (although didn't see either this trip).

I was shocked to see the park 'crowded' for the first time ever (although May 1st is a good, old socialist holiday in France and much of Europe too!:drevil::king:)

Not surprising it went by largely un-noticed, its addition is comparable to adding a clip to the ending of the Great Movie Ride. A nice touch, but nothing on the grand scheme of things.

I'm surprised they haven't added it to GMR, now that you mention it. That type of thing would be noticed by every fanboi/bored housewife/soccer mom blogger in O-Town!

Great news, I hadn't heard about the update to Cinemagique one of my favourite attractions as WDSP do you happen to know what scene was replaced?

Nope. But with four scenes added, you have to figure that four were deleted.
I only know of the Mickey & Minnie one ... can't recall, but was there a scene from Roger Rabbit or another animated film in there (Pinnochio still is)?

That all depends. If they open it in phases like they are doing with the FL expansion something might be open by then.
If construction is more isolated from the day guests, that might make things go more smoothly as well.

It will be located on the old Beastly Kingdom plot, and where Camp Minnie Mickey is now.

Good. I'm glad the rear expansion plot is still available for the future. While it is an unnecessary expense, I also hope they find a way to relocate Festival of the Lion King to its thematically correct place, Africa.

No. 2 are you soooo bored with WDW already that you are taking time from your MAGICal vacation to drop by?

That never happened to me at DLP ... funny how that goes.

BTW, heard the entire Disney Lifestyle brigade was at the Studios with you the other day ... hope you didn't run into any of them (if you ran over them that would be OK, though!):D

Is that confirmed or can the plot still change?
I'm hearing it's for sure.

Nah...just winding down for the day. Actually, I've spent two straight days at Uni. Had a great time.

Actually, considering how crowded it was, I assumed the whole state of FL was in there.
I honestly didn't see a single person that I knew. Maybe I'll see some at MK tomorrow...

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!?!! UNI doesn't have MAGIC or Pixie Dust ... the only Disney that is there is the entire Marvel Superhero Island!

Funny how Disney marketing has turned a small event into something much larger ... and how they cleverly end Flower and Garden now and morph right into SWWs and then it is summer.

Please don't report how MAGICal the pavement in Storybook Circus is ... that would make GG VERY, VERY angry!

I have also been told this as well. Not that Lee's word isn't enough, but I figured I'd share what I have been told as well. I've also heard HUGE simulator and a coaster, but that is vague at best.

I saw Cinemagique recently as well and the one Pixar film addition that I remember is Ratatouille (besides noticing Avatar and being quite surprised by Black Swan). So it seems to be at least 5 new films they added - 3 of those Pixar.

And I don't remember lots of other animated clips - but then I did not look out for them either...

I am starting to think I am Lee's source.

Anyway, I am shocked it is CMM. Glad to hear that FotLK is getting a new home. I just hope they do not put it where Nemo is now. There are better fits at DAK and even the MK.

Mostly I am just glad we can move past this local urban legend that it is not happening and is in developmental limbo. Never bought that for a second. Odd how these apparent disinformation campaigns get started around here and especially by whom.

The Beastly Kingdom plot has been widely assumed to be the plot of land. Jim Hill said as much several months ago.

The only reason I can think that they would put it on the CMM plot is that one of the goals of this expansion is to keep the park open later.

Now we are just left to wonder if a nighttime show will be included also to end the day.

It would not necessarily have to be part of Avatar. Possibly a show could be added around Dinoland.

Interesting possibilities.

Here you would be wrong. Don't assume that because the project has a potential home that they know what is going in there. Or that the project has moved beyond only a very early blue-sky phase in Glendale. Or that everything is going smoothly.
No disinformation started here, or with anyone here. Information originates elsewhere, in that case on the west coast, and trickles down here. Don't blame the messengers.
