Avatar's arrival ...

Now we are just left to wonder if a nighttime show will be included also to end the day.

It would not necessarily have to be part of Avatar. Possibly a show could be added around Dinoland.

No nighttime show is currently in active development. Concepts exist, but not for Dinoland.

Mostly I am just glad we can move past this local urban legend that it is not happening and is in developmental limbo. Never bought that for a second. Odd how these apparent disinformation campaigns get started around here and especially by whom.

Actually, I think the fact who first posted about Avatarland maybe being cancelled added a lot credibility to that rumour. It was started by the thread "Say... What if Avatarland got cancelled" http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=833814 by the forum member pheneix. Because the name did not tell me anything I did look at the poster's history and if you do that then you immediately see that this is someone with a lot of inside knowledge.

Definitely possible. I think there are some power struggles behind the scenes that sometimes play themselves out right here for our enjoyment. :animwink:

I see the big picture here and I am certain the story has a happy ending. In other words, the good people win in the end.

All these new projects are the evidence.

I have been told that blueprints exist, yet I'm still skeptical.
I have been in the construction business for 17 years and I can tell you from first hand experience that "blueprints" is a very flexible term. There very well might be some lines on very official looking paper that are being called blueprints, but if what is there will actually get built is anyone's guess.

Well that's part of the problem. Until I'm able to see the blueprints, or information comes out from another trusted source I'm going to remain skeptical.

So am I to assume that the "bad guys" are those who do not want Avatarland?

Yikes... :lookaroun

I don't blame you one bit. Even if I laid eyes on the plans I would not take it to the bank that what is there will get built.

Here you would be wrong. Don't assume that because the project has a potential home that they know what is going in there. Or that the project has moved beyond only a very early blue-sky phase in Glendale. Or that everything is going smoothly.
No disinformation started here, or with anyone here. Information originates elsewhere, in that case on the west coast, and trickles down here. Don't blame the messengers.

Thank you, Lee. :)

I think it only makes to 1) decide where to put the land and then 2) figure out what to put in there knowing how much land you now have to work with....

We should all know by now, with Disney, nothing is ever official until dirt moves and construction begins... And even then, I'm hesitant until something actually opens...

So, while it is great to hear they keep talking about Avatar still coming, and great we now know where it would go, until CMM is closed, demolished, and Avatar starts to rise, anything can and usually does happen...

I'm all for this Avatar project happening... But if it winds up cancelled, then so be it... Just don't expect anything else in its place keeping the staleness of WDW in full effect....

There is tons of blueprints of projects that never get built. Blueprints are just part of the project proposal along with a lot of other paperwork with design specs, etc. until it gets proposed to the money people and most times it gets shot down or severly wounded.

I see Master Yoda addressed this already. I know nothing, but call tell you with absolute certainty that at this stage blueprints absolutely do not exist. Concept drawings and schematic design plans, very possibly do exist, but final drawings - no possible way.

A little background for everyone:

1. Blueprints are an industry term for construction drawings. Actual blueprints are extinct, the term came from the reproduction process of original drawings (yes they were blue).

2. Actual construction drawings (blueprints) are the final stage of the design. Modifications that are made after that point are part of the construction phase.

3. Before blueprints are released, design occurs in several phases, each adding varying levels of detail and input from trades. Schematics (or concepts) are detailed drawings of the idea, look, orientation, and feel, but usually without the detailed engineering input and detailed construction instructions. The final configuration and layout of ANY project usually changes a couple dozen times between Schematics and Construction Documents (blueprints).

Thanks Lee... interested in seeing what they do with Festival of the Lion King... if they relocated it or remove it completely... providing Avatar does still happen that is...

I hope it's just moved elsewhere. It's a fantastic show. My parents have been to WDW almost every year for the past 4-5 years and they almost never go to Animal Kingdom. We made sure they came with us a few weeks back and made sure they went to see Festival and they were stunned.

Martin already backed that up.. Lion King would be moved...

It will be located on the old Beastly Kingdom plot, and where Camp Minnie Mickey is now.

Maybe they should make this:
