Anyway, we see the same people willing to run with false memes time after time around here. But if it is obvious to me it is obvious to all who they are. No doubt, this Pandora idea scares the pixie dust out of the competition. That much is crystal clear.
It will be a land, it was always announced to be a land, and it will be awesome.

I understand that concept just fine. But there is a difference between making a proposal that is perhaps unrealistic but still in the realm of possibility so it seems like you are serious and a plan like the you say Cameron proposed, which is so dumb, even the dummies in the TDO could see what you are trying to do. Or you could be Universal which actually builds the A level shoot for the moon land and make a billion bucks....
my theory (maybe wishful thinking) is they announce before d23 for avatar stuff so they can announce DHS expansion at d23 so each can have its own spot light
avatar is already announced so why steel its thunder with a new announcement for dhs

Phase 2 wasn't going to be built if Hogswart/Hogsmede wasn't good. But it was hence the contract extension. Then the approval process for anything involving JK, I can only talk about one IE project that was a pain to get approval on, if she doesn't like it - IT doesn't get done. I do know that when she was approving stuff for Phase 2 was roughly around the same time she was approving new writing for Pottermore/"New IE projects"/Pinewood studios tour. So basically trying to get her feet nailed down, plus she doesn't like a Potter project overtaking another project.
Exactly ya know like most licensing deals the license holder has more power than the person they are licensing the brand to, but hey ya know...

good gosh if they do THE nighttime show for AK as Avatar themed, aren't they putting themselves in a box? I mean this is ANIMAL kingdom... there is sooooooooooo much they could do and they've barely scratched the surface now
maybe avatar will just be a part of it

If they added a nighttime show into the Pandora section, they could do it as the Nav'i celebrating the Earthlings being there and their culture which could showcase the animals of Earth.

if they do something featuring every section of the park or something along those lines maybe... but with all the animal characters they have... I mean... the possibilities are endless

I am a modest person who is in a very good position to say that Animal Kingdom cast members basically know nothing the general public does not.
One small thing: due to the land clearing associated with the FotLK move, it is now possible to, if you stand in the right place, see Everest from Africa's backstage areas.

Here's my two cents: I feel that Disney is, and really always has been, all about timing for announcing huge projects like this. I would say that they have an order in mind for when and how they will officially announce the commencement of construction. Right now they are focusing on promoting the new Fantasyland, with a mini-promotion for Monsters University. If you spread promotion too thin, then the new-and-exciting-effect is lost by over-stimulation. Ya know? K, maybe that was one and a half cents of my thoughts.

I don't think so... they've already announced Avatarland... just not done much of anything yet (visible or with release on concept art of what they plan to put there/do with it). Oddly enough I think the longer this goes on the less likely we see it happen but we'll see. I'm sure they have plan B just in case (at least I hope they do).
Eack park IMO needs a shot in the arm with new attractions/lands, etc. At this point I would welcome anything... I just don't want Avatarland to take away from other potential gold mine things they are sitting on right now

That's a good point. In the past, what are some of the other projects Disney has announced with official press releases and then later didn't end up following through with them? Just curious.
