AVATAR land - the specifics

A while back there was a poster Tim_4 that was providing some interesting info about Pandora and DAK in general and he seemed to disappear. I wonder what happened to him, as I miss his posts (at the time, he seemed like the only "insider" who actually had a positive outlook about anything).
might want to add his info was pretty much spot on from the start in terms of how big it would be, ROL, price
etc..

Right. I remember him talking about how a lot of the investment in DAK was going to be going towards preparing it to have longer hours, mentioning stuff like additional food and improvement to walkways throughout the park, which seems to be pretty accurate.

There is probably one of 2 reasons why he no longer posts here: 1) He was found out and told to stop or was let go, 2) He didn't feel like dealing with the amount of 'attention' he got on the threads when he posted anything. It is a shame that he doesn't any longer as he actually provided some good inside information. What I have found on this particular forum is that there are several well established insiders that have been proven very reliable and have an excellent reputation. When another person comes in claiming to know stuff, they are typically beat on like a drum; the reason being that there have been many in the past (apparently) that claimed to be real insiders that were not and were ultimately found out by the barrage of questions that were thrown their way. And in those cases, those individuals deserved it. For whatever reason, I actually think that Tim_4 was the real deal because he seemed to be accurate with what he was posting. But man did he get hammered early on and often.

Too bad that was before my time on here. It would have been nice to hear what he had to say and then later on hearing the official announcement. I rely on several people on the threads for good information and I'm grateful. It will be fun and exciting to see AvatarLand develop in the next few years. Hopefully, Disney is doing video of the building of the land and will release it every once in a while. I wonder if they are making all of the wiring for the rock work offsite right now? Like a lot of video said, it would be nice to get an overview of the land to see how things are going.

Could they be talking about the "third attraction" in this paragraph from a Fast Company article?

I ask where MyMagic+ will influence Avatar Land, and Rohde turns my attention to the model, which is the size of three Ping-Pong tables. He swirls his finger around a tiny section. This little spot is where MyMagic+ will be put to use, in "the most intensive, interactive moments." What about the area’s two big attractions? "Less so," he adds.

My hope is that we are looking at something not only comparable in size to Maharajah Jungle Trail, but in feel. I think it will help Pandora (or whatever it ends up being called) blend in with the feel of the rest of the park. The banshee/Soarin situation seems like it will be mostly screen/simulator based & the rumored name (Flight of Passage) suggests the experience of riding the creature for the first time through the floating mountains, ect. For some reason I'm thinking the boat ride will be a mix of Maelstrom, The Land & ET. ET immediately came to mind when I saw the concept art-but that might just be the color scheme. I would love to see the mysterious 3rd attraction be an interactive walk through exhibit including animal & plant life. Hopefully the wish tree (or whatever it was called) and some great animatronics. We know from the video released by Disney that we will see a bioluminescent floor that will react to guests' foot prints-the question is will in be in cues or in the '3rd attraction' area? Or both? I agree with a previous poster (might have been on another thread actually) that suggested that the rides will probably not follow a specific storyline from the movie, but just put you in that world. Comparable to the Potter rides at Uni. Most of this is 100% conjecture on my part based off what we've seen and heard so far.

FWIW, the rumor for the name of the ride is actually "Flight of Passage".

From my limited conversations with him, he was definitely the real deal. And a very nice guy.

I hope he wasnt fired or punished for sharing his knowledge.

Agreed. But -- if something in that vein happened -- I would think it is more likely he was caught and told to stop making posts and that's why we don't see him anymore. If he were fired, he'd probably be here ragging on how awful Disney is.
