Transformers most definitely is not. The other two unashamedly are and never claim to be anything more.

They're defiantly not trying to be a wannabe anchor E ticket. Since the Avland E Ticket was axed the proposed Soarin' style attraction has to pretend to take up the mantle.

Transformers takes you from screen to screen. It has no sets or show pieces. It also lacks humor, a coherent storyline, and a musical score. It made me feel like I was stuck in the violent video game that Wreck-It Ralph made fun of.

That said, I love The Simpsons , and have yet to ride Despicable Me.

Your perceptive skills are unimpressive. There is a helicopter and a yellow VW beetle among other set pieces. The storyline is not only coherent, but simplistic. Bad guys want the AllSpark, good guys try and keep it from them. And there is a custom musical score that is obvious before you even enter the building.

You are trying way too frickin' hard to hate on an amazing attraction. I'm sorry that all your baby ponied up for 2013 was a Princess meet and greet.

Oh, and Magical SillyBandz!

ah and here we go... classic Disney v/s Uni battle on these boards

Uni while making good strides has a long ways to go in the overall theme park wars and when the Hairy Potter craze dies down... I hope that doesn't hurt them because they seem to be banking about 1/3rd of their entire Uni/IOA on it now... and from the train testing taking place today, I hope they spruce up the look of it, because it looks very dull on the outside IMO (especially the engine)

The train looks identical to the one depicted in the film from the photos I've seen, right down to a slightly aged appearance. Are you sure you hadn't glimpsed the 'backside' of the train that will not be seen by guests? I've seen the backside, and it is not themed for this reason.

It looks gritty and weathered. They started going with that look in the latter films as the story got darker. It's theming.

I rode it in Universal Hollywood and found it to be a very poor man's Spiderman. The fact that they cloned it in Orlando surprised the hell out of me, since a superior version of the same ride is right next door.

That won't be happening any time soon. Besides the fact that the book and film series have both shown they have staying power, Rowling is also writing a spin-off film as part of a new series that will probably be just the start of the expansion of the Potter franchise.

The boy wizard will be sticking around for a while yet.

This has been posted and buried somewhere, so please forgive me for re-posting. I thought I would pull it back up due to it's relevancy to the discussion. Not saying this is what they are doing per say (maybe someone who knows more would like to add input??!!) Just adding to the thought and speculation process...
This is what I pictured them using to show us the world of Pandora. Not really Soarin, but could be likened to it.

That would be terrific, but none of the rumors or leaked material suggests anything as grand as a robocoaster like that.

Anyway, back on Avatar discussion....

I didn't see this posted anywhere, so I figured I'd share THIS LINK to Vekoma's Panoramic Flight Simulator ride system.

While similar to Soarin, it's vastly improved. Each tier of seating assemblies telescopes out from a multi-story loading platform. And there are hydraulics on each assembly, allowing the entire row of seats to roll, sway and pitch in many directions.

The screens have a bit more wraparound style to them, and since it will be 3-D, the visuals will be far more intense and realistic. I imagine they'll use Cameron's video system, meaning the images will be much superior to Soarin's.

For those who keep saying Soarin isn't that great look at Epcot.......What ride has the longest lines and the hardest time getting a FP??? I'm sure Soarin 2.0 would be tweaked up to a better ride but I hope something else is in store. Add to it the fact that people loved Avatar on Imax screens in 3D more justification right there for Soarin 2.0.

We will see hopefully before I die of old age.
Most will say that's due to its low capacity and the fact that nothing else draws people away in EPCOT, so by default, Soarin gets long lines.
I hope that if any of these old plans that seem to be currently treated as new come to light, that they are far more of a people eater and not nearly as boring as Soarin can be.

This is an impressive ride system if you look at the mechanics of it.

The best part of the movie Avatar was the 3D. By updating a Soarin system with more intense movements and digital 3D should make one heck of an e-ticket for Avatar land. The boat ride should be a lot of fun and fill the need for an original animatronic ride that Disney does so well. I'm excited for 2017.
