Avatar 3D ride news

Camp Minnie Mickey hasn't even been leveled yet and we're already panning one of the yet to be built attractions? Seriously? o_O
I'd agree that it's a little premature but every bit of leaked info so far indicates that the headliner attraction will use soarin-style motion base and feature no animatronics. This disappoints a lot of people who were hoping for something more physical.

People started panning the Avatar project minutes after the original announcement was made two years ago, panning the attraction shouldn't come as any surprise.

I'd be happy with a Soarin' style attraction if they go 3D and add some more range of motion to the ride vehicle.

People are reacting to the information that has been posted. Whether it proves to be an accurate reflection of the ride is yet to be seen. If you're coming on these sites you have to expect reaction to various projects in train whether they be Diagon Alley or Avatar. I don't operation in some vacuum where my opinions are only formed be tangible interactions. You hear something and you have a response and what I've seen in this thread has me feeling underwhelmed. Now people can either accept that or continue the futile practice of moaning about other peoples feelings.

My only concern is, how are they going to theme the ride vehicle to seem to be anything other than Soarin' 2.0. It doesn't seem likely that there would be any attempt to make it appear that you are on one of those dragon things.

I'm sure they'll use every bit of the wildly successful theming of the competitor:

Hope that wasn't sarcasm.
I really love the paint and bodywork on the Dragons.

I would hope Disney will put some significant work into the motion base aand ride room. Soarin' is so sterile. It would be cool if the screen never goes completely dark and instead starts and ends with a still image of the forest floor or wherever it is the ride begins.

To each his own. I think those trains look ridiculous. A plastic dragon vomiting up 4 Bolliger and Mabillard seats?

Cool it with the attitude. EVERYONE on this board just wants Disney to be the best they can be. None of us have anything to gain by a lack of innovation and devotion to the project.
Amen! Look at my join date... I didn't seek out this forum all those years ago because I love universal, in fact I have not been to universal in over 15 years. I haven't ever searched or joined a universal studios forum. I'm just not buying what what disney is selling. They are not playing catch up, in fact, it appears they arent even trying..

You mean like Transformers, The Simpsons, and Despicable Me?
no transformers has a ton of a show sets, simpsons and despicable me are cute both nothing insane kinda of meh. this is supposed to be an eticket anchor. This is soarin 2.0 which is alright but no big deal either.

Transformers most definitely is not. The other two unashamedly are and never claim to be anything more.

They're defiantly not trying to be a wannabe anchor E ticket. Since the Avland E Ticket was axed the proposed Soarin' style attraction has to pretend to take up the mantle.

You're referring to the Vekoma motorbike coaster that was rumored at one ppoint?
