I'll probably get kicked off the boards for this, but I HATE Mickey Mouse. I can't stand his squeaky voice and I've just never enjoyed his cartoons. I do like other characters and I like a nice amount of the movies but the real draw to me is the parks. There is no place on earth like the Disney parks and I just love the feeling there.

I guess I’m a Disney fan, I love the parks and resorts but I also love the movies. The animation classics like Bambi or Fantasia as well as the live action classics like Swiss Family Robinson. DW and I always enjoyed the animation movies of the 80’s and 90’s such as Aladdin or Beauty and Beast and we love the Pixar films.
I’m not a big fan of the cartoons either, I don't hate Mickey Mouse but to tell the truth I always enjoyed the Warner Brothers, Bugs Bunny cartoons more.

LOL! You're more about the quantity of bags, huh? That puts you in the top 99% of all women. :p Let me guess.... you're all about the cute high heel shoes too. That's a real stretch, huh?

But give it time. Once you get older and have "too many" bags, as if that's possible, that's when you'll start going for the designer bags. I've seen this before some place...... oh WAIT! That's right. Every girl I've ever known is like this.

That's not fair!
Really, really accurate.. but totally unfair =P

I'm more of a shoe person, really.. but you don't see people putting out designer Disney shoes and so.. a purse will have to do!

Good question! I am a Walt Disney fan. I love the parks, but I also love all other things Disney. My son is even named after Walt Disney. His name is Eli, short for Elias.

Okay, I had to Google “Dooney bags” to figure out what in the heck you were talking about.
DW and I have an understanding I never say “Another bags?” Or “Don’t you have shoes like that?” and at 4 pm on Sundays she doesn’t say “How can you watch another football game? And when going out to for dinner etc. she never says “you’re not going to go like that are you?” Well almost never.

Glad I'm not getting kicked off the boards for not liking Mickey.:)
Now I have a confession to make:I have the Pirates theme song as my ringtone. It's the music you hear as you exit the ride and the monorail speil is my text alert. BUT, they are park things to me and not the cartoons. I do love Lion King and Tarzen and some of the old movies but I would be fine if I never saw another Disney film but please don't take the parks away from me!!

I guess I'm more of a parks guy. I love the World and all that goes with it. As far as my house, a few tree ornaments, some pictures from our trips, several Mickey t-shirts, D23 member, RoE ringtone and about a dozen dvds.

Not a real movie and Disney historian just really love the parks.

Parks person here as well! After visiting with my wife and children in 2003 I really fell in love with the design and story behind Walt, Imagineering and the parks.

you sort of sound like me, pepper's ghost. I don't own disney stuff or decorate my house with disney in any way. I don't think i have a single mickey thing in my house. I haven't even seen all of the movies. I don't really buy any souveniers from the parks for this reason.

I love the theme parks. I visit the theme parks often and i just love being there. I love the atmosphere, theming, rides etc. (not just wdw, but other disney parks also).

I listen to theme park music while i drive, but not the music from the disney movies.

Glad to find a kindred spirit!

Hmm I love all things Disney, the movies and what not. But I wouldn't say I would go as far as decorating every room in the house with things like Mickey Mouse and what not. And I think Mickey, who has never been my all time favorite, and still isn't. Well he is sort of growing on me, though I can think of a handful more that I love over the beloved mouse.

Well seems like All-Things-Disney fans are starting to take control. :D That's what I expected though. ;)

I'm definitely not a Mickey hater. I think the character himself is cute and I like taking pictures with him, but I definitely don't care for the cartoon. I am a huge Pirates fan though, and a few other movies including Lion King. But before I went to WDW for the first time when I was 26, I didn't care for Disney at all. In fact, I didn't quite understand those who were "psycho Disney fans" with the Disney Christmas tree, and everything else. Now, that I've been to the parks, those Disney fans are no longer psycho in my eyes. :p I can appreciate their love for Disney, although my love of WDW spawned from my enjoyment of the parks.

LOL! You resemble that remark, huh? :p I knew it! Hmmm, designer Disney shoes..... that's a million dollar idea! You need to market that. I'm sure that there are zillions of female shoe-nut Disney fans. :D

I am a Walt Disney fan. I love his story, his dreams, and his accomplishments. I also love his faults and his strong points. I love him so much that I wrote my Honors College Thesis about him and developed a new theory of corporate leadership based on his traits. I have spent much time reading and researching, which helped me to appreciate the theme parks, movies, etc on a whole new level. While I may not love everything about the company, I respect alot of what the company has accomplished. :king:

My love for Disney has lead me to collect Disney Memorabilia...but mostly related to the Fab 5. I have a strong love for Goofy because I had a stuffed Goofy Plush when I was a kid, but I also have most of the Walt Disney Treasures DVD Collections which include most of the original animated shorts, and I also have alot of the original animated movies. I also have my home office decorated in older stuff including a picture collage of replica movie posters of some of the original shorts (the artwork that comes with the Treasures DVD sets), vintage WDW souveniers, and Olzsewski's Disney World Main Street USA scale models.

It's kinda funny...I grew up watching "Wonderful World of Disney" every Sunday and all (I know, I am old :ROFLOL:), but never really considered myself to be a HUGE Disney fan. I mean, I had books and games and records (really dating myself now :lookaroun) and other Disney stuff as a child I guess, but so did everyone really.

It wasn't until I finally made it down to WDW in 2005 that I TRULY became a fan of Disney, the whole entity. The parks, the music, the movies...they all meant more to me now for some reason. I began collecting Disney merchandise and listening to the music again. It was like it awoke the inner child in me, in a good way. Disney, whether it is the parks or movies or music, seem to take you away from your everyday problems, even if only for a few minutes or a few days or what not.

And I thought going to WDW was going to be a one time family trip that year. Little did I know!!! :ROFLOL:

All things Disney...love the movies, the characters, the merch and of course the parks!

No doubt the parks play a big role in why I enjoy Disney so much but definitely not the sole reason that I am a Disney fan.
