Has anyone else read the article on Mousesavers.com?? The operator says that there is a possability that they are phasing out room only reservation discounts in exchange for huge discounts on packages? Now I know that the mouse will not completely do this but what do you think this is spelling for the future? Any connection to "Magical Gatherings"? Since most large groups will naturaly buy packages? When are those rates coming out? I heard a rumor on another thread of 8/17? Any conformation?:veryconfu

Buzz:) I got a AAA for the hotel I wanted in Sept.:sohappy:

AP would have helped :D but my main concern was

Not knowing:eek: Being kept in the dark:( until SuperMatt came along:cool:

I think most of the ill feelings were over being kept in the dark :lookaroun rather than lack of discounts.

In addition to my Sept. trip I still have my Dec28-Jan5 rack rate trip which I am also looking forward to.:sohappy: I know there is never a discount late December so I will not be sitting around waiting and checking five different boards 3-4 times a day.

Hopefully before I leave WDW in Jan. they will hang a "come back" flyer on my door for my May trip:D

I Am so with you Tiggerlover!!!! Assuming these puppies come out on Thursday I will be on the phone with them so fast it will make your head spin!!!! I have an October trip and the December Meet to book for. Any idea where you will be staying for December?? I Spoke to my usual roomie, Rich and he had said he preferred POR. I am kinda partial to the place also, plus I will be staying at Coronado if I have my way in October so .....might as well switch off!! Both are good resorts at a great price!!! Belle

Since we are doing POR in October we are going to go cheap and stay at my most dreaded place ever one of the all stars so we can save a little money ( can you tell I am no so hppy about that ) but richard (dh) agreed to go to the meet only if we stayed at all stars since we are staying at POR for our anniversary trip ( wanted WL but we rather have more spending money) .

Supermatt70,
Any idea why September folks are left without a discount? Was FTP so successful that September is going to be mobbed? I know that when the rates were "accidentally" released a few weeks ago that the Sept dates were included in the discounts -- but evidently only travel agents were able to book them d/t their having a special line to call in to Disney. Now, we are being excluded.

Not only do we not want to go at full rack rate, but we don't want to be there in 90 degree heat with HUGE crowds. Any guidance on expected crowds?

Thanks for any input.

Kim

Yeah but if the AP rates come out you can get the Moderates for the same price if not a few dollars cheaper!!! I stayed at the AS last December and we happened to run into a Pop Warner convention as well as some other band kind of thing. Bottom line it was MOBBED with kids who werent particularly quiet. Security and Management was pretty good about it after I complained ( I think I said something about ripping some kid's head off if my door got banged on again at 3 am!!) but I am not into it. Call me snobby if you'd like!!! :D   Belle

No September dates does have to do with the FTP. Bottom line is that FTP was VERY successful--more so than Disney planned. Rooms had to come from other areas to meet the demand for FTP rooms, ie other planned discounted rooms were used.

Hey Matt,

Thanks for all the great information!! I was looking over another disney board and someone posted that they had just spoken with some ppl at the CRO, one said that the AP rates were delayed and the other said something about them being pulled and put on "indefinite hold". Is this just misinformed CMs or is it possible?

Three cheers for SuperMatt!!!!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:
Good information and not rampant misinformation is always welcome on these boards!!! I for one am very happy that Disney decided to release the rates. I am going in October ( who knows when now though as there seems to be some glitches in the system over here!!) and December, which I will be booking tomorrow!!!
Id suggest that people book anytime in December quickly due to the new package that is out. Winter Dream Maker package. Certainly no where as good as the Fairy Tale Package, but not terrible either. I have given a workup of the rates to a bunch of people I know. 4 nights 5 days for two adults including passes Standard view at one of the Moderates is $909.52. I dont think this will cause a huge run, but Id say better safe than sorry as if they get a tremendous surge, discounts in other areas may become more limited!!! Belle
