Just wonderin'.

We went to the Columbus Blue Jackets came tonight. Single digit temps with 55 MPH wind gusts. YIKES  !!!

Luckly we haven't had any snow yet. MI, North OH and PA getting major lake effect for over a day now. I called my relatives in Detroit and we both agreed. Good thing none of us no longer live in Minnesota. Duluth saw wind chills of -60 earlier today.

Anybody have some frigid stories this weekend?

Oh, and many schools are already on delay in the morning -- and many more to follow it looks like.

I walked from my dorm to Hitchcock Hall today in RECORD time. It was so cold outside it was hard to breathe. Freaking Ohio. The worst part is, I can't find my gloves :(

At least it isn't snowing. Walking to anywhere in the snow is ridiculous.

I don't miss those Minnesota days much. I remember once in first grade I just couldn't stay at the bus stop any longer. It was like -15 with 20 MPH winds. I just couldn't. I went home and was called in sick. Good think Winter Carnival was last week and not this week!!!

It has been freezing here in minnesota the last couple of days! The wind has been brutal. You gotta love when your temp gauge on your mirror reads -8 and you know the windchill makes it that much colder.

I need to beat my oldest daughter she went out to the bus stop this morning before 7am and left her warm jacket, boots, hat etc. to wear her stylish jacket which I'm guessing she didn't Zip up and had a tank top and scoop neck shirt on under. :brick: She just rolls her eyes when I tell her the dangers of frostbite. Unfortunately she may learn the hard way.

16º here this morning! Woo-hoo! (Until I get the oil bill -- $750 for my last fill-up, which will last about a little over a month in the winter! It's $3.10 per gallon, and my tank is a 275-gallon tank.)

But, you know, all of us complain but actually have warm houses to go into at night. Can you imagine how people dealt with these temperatures a hundred years ago (and earlier)?!

I often think about that when I ponder why people ever settled in minnesota. I can't even imagine!

It's a wonderful -9 right now here in the U.P. of Michigan...oh yeah with a wind chill of -33!!!
Luckily school is out this week for "winter break"...So we get to stay inside, have a cup of cocoa, and dream of WDW!!

I think the worst part is those days when it will pop up to 60 and almost feel like springtime :( Then BOOM we're back into winter again

I noticed that the daffodils are starting to pop up at my mother in law's house though. :sohappy: I'm taking any tiny little bit of hope for warmer weather I can get right now!! :hammer:

But for today, the wood burner is earning its keep. *sigh*
