Any adults ever "cry" when leaving Walt Disney World?

I also like to linger about the parks on my last day and get on my favorite rides one more time as if I was saying goodbye to them. :(

Always get thos teary glassy eyes. It is like a little part of you dies inside when you have to leave the magic and return to the real world.

Yep. Sure do. I tell myself I know I'll be back and all. And I won't get emotional but it never fails and I always do.

Sometimes I wonder if its the fact I am leaving the world. Or if its the thought of returning to work/reality that I hate....LOL..

Or maybe I tell myself its the latter so I don't feel so childish.

Every time I walk through the MK gates I give myself a pep talk about being a big girl and not crying, etc.... Yet, without fail, as soon as I step on to Main Street, hear the wonderful music and see the castle, I turn into such a cry baby.

Same thing happens when I leave. Same pep talk. Same tears. It's a feeling that just can't be described adequately.

No one in my family cries, but we sure aren't happy. We definately feel down when we leave, and then I spend a week (or more) looking at the clock and thinking "Last week at this time we were...".

Im going August 15-21 and as soon as we come back home everyone is going off to college (including myself). I will most likely ball my eyes out when we leave the hotel to head to the airport

I've never cried, but I definitely get sad when leaving the last park of the trip.

In order for me to have closure, I MUST make MK the last park of my trip.

We usually try to plan it so that we get to leave MK around closing time the night before we leave, so I can walk down nearly-empty Main Street and take it all in....then know I get to come back in the morning for lunch at Plaza and a final "goodbye" before hopping on DME.

If there is too much down time between my last park visit and when we actually leave property, I tend to dwell on it and Disney Depression sets in. I'm all about closure, with everything in my life.

Last time I went to Disney, I cried the first time seeing the Fantasmic finale (sorcerer mickey bit) and BAWLED the second time (my mom, sister and I saw it the night before we left) I also cried walking into all 4 parks, because for me, the first time I went to Disney we only visited MK and ran over to HS (at that time still MGM) to ride TOT. It was very moving to be going to the other parks that I've always had dreamed about. Very emotional experience. If my brother asks me to go with them when they take my niece and nephew, I'll probably cry the whole time seeing Disney through their eyes. And I'm a guy. Go figure.

I usually cry everytime I leave MK. I'd live there if I could, not just close by but inside MK. :p

When we go in September I will cry when we leave, but not for long, because we have vowed to go again at Christmas (not this year, but next). Kids requested it, what is a parent to say? Our kids are all in their twenty's but they love to go as much as we do, we raised them well. It is easier for me to leave when I know when I am coming back, gives me hope.

yes! I do this too!! My sister said to me the day after we got back, "At this time yesterday we were relaxing on Main Street, eating hot dogs at Casey's" and it immediately ruined my day.

But to be the optimist, I happy to say, "In exactly seven months from today, we'll be watching Illuminations after a great day, with perfect weather, at Epcot."

And what's even better is that's 100% true! :sohappy:
