Any adults ever "cry" when leaving Walt Disney World?

I do, As my hubby has our luggage taken to our van I stand on our balcony and look at the surrondings and cry, my 10yr old usually sits in the living room of the villa and watches cartoons and is having her sad moment.

I have been known to cry when leaving.

My sister and I have a similar pic from our visit in 2006 when PotC was closed.

In all seriousness though, I'm definitely sad and a bit choked up every time I leave. If I'm not crying I'm fighting it back hard. Lately we've been visiting MK the night before we leave and that's when it hits me the most, though the trip on DME back to Orlando is always a real tough ride. Funny how in the span of a week Orlando Airport goes from a happy place to a depressing and dreaded stop. :(

I did see a teenage girl cry when she got on the bus to go back to the resort. Her mom said to her don't worry we will come back next year. Apparently she was upset she did not get to say goodbye to one of the guy castmembers.

My daughter is 21 and sat in the backseat of our vehicle with sunglasses on sniffling as we pulled away from the resort and started back to Georgia. I couldn't see her eyes but I strongly suspect she was tearing up. We are going back in a year so she won't have a huge wait. It is sad to leave such a wonderfully happy magical world and enter back into mainstream society again.

I cry during my last few hours in the park.
I cry when I leave.
I cry on the bus.
I cry on the Magical Express bus during the video, "See ya real soon!"
I cry the first week home knowing Ohio is NOT where I'm meant to be. I think I might start crying again now

I cry a little when I'm leaving the property, and I open my wallet to see how little cash Mickey left me. But then when we order food at some off-site fast food place, and I'm shocked at how inexpensive it is compared to WDW food, and I start feeling better.

OK, that was snarky. To be honest, I did cry the first time we left, and my dad said, "Wave goodbye kids, because we'll never be back." Turns out, he was about as wrong as one can be. That was 1972, and I can't count the number of trips we've made.

Before we joined DVC I cried every time we left because I knew it would be a YEAR before we came back. Now I know I will be coming back at least three times a year for 50 years so I do not get as sad. I alsofind I no longer need to rush as much or make sure I "get it all in".

NOW- I DO still cry every time I ride Soarin'.....yeah I'm lame I know......that one just gets me every time....lol ;)

You can't drink away the pain yet! :ROFLOL:

I'm nearly 24, a frat boy, athletic, and I flirt and go after girls. I cry leaving Disney and heading through airport security. To me airport security is the point where the magic ends and the real world begins (and vice versa, once I pass by security at MCO I feel like I'm on vacation and at Disney.)

That's why WDW is so great....we are all eternal children when we're there! :sohappy:

Oh yes, there are tears. It does help now that we drive down so we aren't just sitting around waiting on DME and then at the airport. It's funny even at the food courts you can look around and just tell from expressions on people's faces that they are on their last day. Oh, I don't like that envelope hanging on the door either. I just keep telling myself I'll be back. And sometimes the stars align and I find myself at WDW when I totally don't expect to be.

I feel the same way on beig back home and feeling like you dont belong in your home state that you have this emotional pull to be in FL. I feel the same way. As soon as we arrive in FL I feel this sense of all things are in balance and u have more purpose and meaing in FL.

OK....am I glad to know that I'm not the only one! I don't officially "cry" but get very, very sad. When we load the car I take one last look around at the resort and tear up..when we pull out of the resort and I see the resort sign fading away behind me, I get all teary eyed! For the first time since 1997 we will not be going this year! Taking a cruise instead. I already think about not being there and cry over that! Well, I know that we will be even more excited about next year and I already can't wait! It will seem so funny to not be there this September but I know I'll appreciate being there even more next year!

It seems like all things Disney make me cry lately! I cried during all the night shows and now anything from stories about going to the parks or watching YouTube videos where people get surprised with a trip makes me well up. Disney World really is the best place I have ever been to!

I always tell myself I won't, and that it's inappropriate for a grown man to cry leaving Walt Disney World, it happens every single time without fail. I always turn and give the theme park (usually MK on that last day) one final look before I bid farewell, and that very moment gets me.

I'm right there with you on this one.

I have seen many people cry getting onto Magical express of all Ages. Its just a fun place to be, so why not cry when you have to go back to the real world.

Can't say that I've ever cried, but I feel an immense sense of loss and finality once I approach the tunnel under the train station, and again on the drive out as the Walt Disney World highway signs give way to normal traffic signage. :arghh:
