Another Disney Parks "New Years Eve Announcement" 2012

I wonder if maybe they are going to announce the next "savings" offer. The current special offer does end on 12/31. It is a good time to reach a large audience and promote the spring/summer savings package and encourage non- regulars to come see the "new" Fantasyland. A room and ticket discount might convince some first timers to book a trip.

Heck, they haven't even swatted The Amazing Adventures of Spider-man, and it's 13 years old.

My guess is the announcement is some sort of promotion that will effect both WDW and DLR. Is Limited Time Magic also coming to DLR?
Yes it is, and like leap day, I'm sure they will mop the floor with the FL offerings

Another guess would be some land+sea combo deal hyping both the parks and DCL. Advertisements that hit the viewing audience in general and is not specific only to one coast, although the cruises seem to be predominently centered on the east coast

Honestly, I don't think it's going to be much. If they're going to make an effort to make such a big announcement on such a large platform, I think it should be somewhat relevant to everyone. "One More Disney Day" wasn't really relevant to everyone, just those who could schedule a last minute trip.

Not expecting much from this announcement, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's "Limited Time Magic".

I rode Spidey when we were there 2 Junes ago. IMO, if given the choice between riding Spidey or Everest, I would choose the Mountain everytime, working Yeti or not. That being said, FJ was awesome and the highlight of our day at IOA.

Trust me, with the update the ride had one june ago, the ride is 10X better.

I'd be shocked if it were anything beyond Limited Time Magic. That follows their marketing deal from last year.
You don't get a huge audience on NYE unless there are very bad storms and even if you do, everyone's drunk or talking with friends and family ... no one (but fanbois) are sitting by the TV praying Disney will make an attraction announcement (NEVER, EVER, EVER!)

It's going to be "Limited Time Magic" I bet.

Disney fans know about it, but the general public doesn't.

I belong to a Bible study group at my church, and before lessons every week we all talk and have donuts and catch up. A lot of moms are in the group so it's normal to talk about Disney. I like seeing what other people know who don't spend time on Disney boards. Very few of them knew anything about New Fantasyland until it was in USA Today for the opening ceremony.

None of them know about Avatar or Cars coming to WDW. They hadn't even heard of Carsland at DCA and they don't know about Shanghai Disneyland being built. They didn't even know there was a Hong Kong Disneyland!

So, I think that almost all announcements made by Disney will always be disappointing to the really committed fans like us because the announcements are really for the people out there who don't come to boards like these.

Limited Time Magic is what they want to promote right now...so that's what the big announcement will be.

Those that thought leap day was a dud really need to reevaluate their lives. Not everything has to pander to you. A great many people had just the absolute best day. I loved watching all the highlights and live blogs throughout the day. Made my work day go super fast.

People need to stop expecting Disney to hand them things. I'll never forget the pictures of a fog filled Main Street.

Shame that so many fans have to be so dang selfish.

Selfish? What you talkin' bout, Willis?

By any measure, it was a dud of an announcement. It's great that you and others got to enjoy it. But they went on national TV to hype an announcement, shrouded it in secrecy, created a website with a countdown and filled my in-box with reminders and then announced something that was going to be of no interest whatsoever to the vast majority of their customer base.

That's the definition of a dud announcement, Jimbo.

How did this year's ornaments turn out? I didn't get one in the mail this year. My tree is sad.

If it's LTM, that would be even less exciting than last year's announcement seeing as how they discussed LTM during the parade. Not much of an announcement when you already talked about it on national TV. But, this is Disney, so that's probably it. How many times did they "announce" the FLE?
