Anna and Elsa - Just Plain Ridiculous.

I agree, I just set up my fast pass to have my two girls meet them in May. They have seen the move about ten times now since the video came out on Tuesday. I will win major brownie points for making this happen.
Our Fast Pass + are for May 19th from 2 to 3pm. Our boys will be so excited, they love Frozen so much. My older son has watched it repeatedly since I put it on his iPad. I have watched it by myself without anyone else twice already.

I waited 2.5 hours to meet them. It was worth it to me

It is funny because I bet it increases a false sense of hope. You think the line is not that bad, until you get in it, and then there are multiple large groups that jump in front of you right before your turn.

Not really, because the CMs tell you what time session you're in (so you know how long you'll be waiting)

You should see how crazy kids were at megacon, when cosplayers showed up dressed up like them. It was like, who cares about heroes, and anime when Anna and Elsa are here. :p

I never get in a line over 30 minutes for a ride. Getting in a line for four hours to see a costumed person is a little on the insane side. At that rate you would need to spend 14 days in the parks just to hit every character and maybe do 1/10 the attractions.

Honestly, I think Disney did a poor job portraying the sisters as face characters. Elsa's wig looks very obvious and the dress looks nothing as impressive as the animation. I feel they could have done a better job. Yesterday, the Anna in the parade was spilling out of the dress in the armpits and back. She looked squeezed in and much too old. Both of them looked too old.

I'm happy I'm not the only one who thinks this. Even from the promotional pictures I've seen online, I didn't think they looked much like the characters at all...

Does anyone else agree with me that the Anna and Elsa M&G is just plain ridiculous? While I was in Epcot last month, the wait was up to 4 hours. I waited a little over 3 for Oogie Boogie at Unleash the Villains, but that was a special occasion. Does anyone else think it isn't worth it to meet up with the characters from Frozen? Plus, now that they're moving to MK where Fastpass+ is available, I think it's getting even more out of hand. Maybe it's just me, but I'm using a Fastpass on a ride, not to see the princesses.
At some level, it is ALL ridiculous. 90 minutes in the hot sun for a flume ride? Most of us have done it. 60 minutes for Peter Pan? Yes, begrudgingly. You admit to waiting 3 hours for Oogie Boogie because you considered it special. I have to believe those who wait 4 hours for this meet and greet consider it special enough.

Yes, I agree that I would not place such a high time value on this event, but obviously others feel differently. When the Wizarding World of Harry Potter first opened at Islands of Adventure, there were multi-hour waits just to get into the land, without even factoring in the wait time for rides. Thank goodness for off-season!

You must not have kids

edit to add: I do not have kids but have visited enough times with young relatives to know that if they want to see a character, you should do it.

No, but even when my parents took me starting at 6mo old, and every year afterwards, we would never wait in a line such as that for a character. We would wait in line up to 60 minutes for something like BTMRR. Should and will are two way different things.

I hear you! When I went in 2011, we were there in February and I waited an hour for Rapunzel on one day, and three another. The newest ladies get crazy long lines.

I still haven't been able to meet Rapunzel. Every time we've been she's either been 'not here today!, sorry' or the queue was song long that my two wouldn't wait. Now when we go next year, which is going to be Easter(groan) I am determined to meet them. My little man is desparate to meet Anna and Elsa also. Wish me luck

I didn't read all the responses, but yes waiting more than 30 minutes for any M&G is just ridiculous IMO. But many do it, an that's their choice.

My DW and I like taking pics w/ characters on our WDW vacations, it' part of the experience for us. But you won't catch us waiting that long. It was the same for Merida and Rapunzel last trip for us, but we hit them at rope drope or got FP. I we couldn't do that, we tried on another visit.

I blame WDW for the poor M&G waits. Period. Compared to how many are available, the have very few out and very few special ones. Characters are getting more and more popular every year for every age level. More and more people are attending special ticketed events just to see special characters. When a new character shows up, the lines are loooooooooong. :banghead:

WDW needs to add more characters to all the parks instead of removing them. They need to add more special appearances, and more opportunies to see characters. Mickey is at every park, why can't Anna/Elsa be at more than one park. Ariel has two rooms, more popular characters should have that set up. For the busier characters, time spent should be limited per family; autograph while interacting, picture and move on. I know that there is the interaction etc, but there is no need to play games and spend 20+ minutes with one family. And if you have 8 kids, you don' need a individual pic w/ each, a group shot of all, and a individual pic of every combination that you can think of.

I am in line right now. We got to the Norway pavilion at 9:05 and they were already saying it was a four hour line. I can not see this line taking four hours. So we will stick it out for an hour and see how much the line moves.
