Saving Matt was a waste. Plain and simple. They used their one and only save way too early in the game. They should have waited until the top 4 or 3 to use it. :fork:
They couldn't. The rule was it had to be used before the top 5. Ryan said it was only available two more weeks [presumably including last week].

Surprisingly good night tonite!

Best:

Adam
Kris
Allison
Danny

Good:

Anoop
Matt

Worst:

Lil Rounds

Going home: Lil Rounds and Matt.

You know, this is turning out to be a really great season. There's a whole lot of talent year.

My bottom three: Lil, Anoop and Alison.

I thought Kris stole the night. Danny and Adam were predictable and Matt was the only one who actually did disco for disco week and did a nice job of making it his own.

Going home: Lil and Anoop.

I guess the opinions are all over the place this week. I LOVED Kris and Allison, liked Danny, thought Lil was OK, hated Adam but I still think he's safe, and pick Matt and Anoop to go home.

Here are my opinions:

Lil- I found her boring, as usual. She is an "okay" singer, but I think she has been overrated from day one. I think that everyone wanted her to be something that she is just not cut out to be. I think that the producers were hoping for a diva like Whitney Houston type of performer that was going to blow everyone out of the water each week, but she just can't do that.

Kris-He has been one of my favorites all along. I think he is very cute and charming, and has a ton of talent. I really loved his performance last night.

Danny-I loved him in the beginning of this competition. I had really high hopes for him, but lately I have been a bit bored with his performances. I think his voice is amazing, but something seems to be missing...I just can't put my finger on it.

Allison- I think she has amazing talent, but I just can't get past her image. I understand the look and style that she is trying to achieve, but she just never looks quite right. I think the stylists really need to work on her some more. I was not thrilled with her performance last night.

Adam-I think he is by far the most talented person in the competition. However, I honestly do not think he could make it as a pop or rock star. He needs to go to Broadway....he would be amazing.

Matt- I have really liked him all along, but he is not consistent. He'll have an amazing performance, and then a couple of boring ones. I think that his song choice last night was horrible. Out of everyone, he was the one that really needed to step up to the plate this week to prove that the judges made the right choice in saving him. Sadly he came nowhere near doing that.

Anoop- I was looking forward to his performance. I think he has a great personality when singing upbeat songs, so I thought Disco would be great for him. What was he thinking with that song choice?? I really think he could have been a huge hit last night with the right song. What a shame.

I dont think I had a "favorite" for this week....
Although this is the order of how I like the performances:
1... Adam/Danny
2... Anoop (I like it when he sings ballads)
3... Matt (he wasn't THAT great... but I liked his performance better than:
4... Allison
5... Lil/Kris

I think its up in the air as to who is going home... my bottom 3 are Lil, Matt & Anoop.

Danny's coasting. He hasn't done anything memorable or taken any chances. He's a slightly slicker version of Lil. Good voice, but lacking personality, spark, and that "it" factor.

Kris could actually win this thing.

I'm as critical of Paula as anybody, but she actually does have a marketable skill. She's a good choreographer and had the top seven moving much better than in all the other group performances. She's still a boozy cougar and has no business being on the show, but, hey, props for the choreography.

Last season was fantastic. This season is awful. It's really a gamble. Maybe next season will be better.

Are you serious? This season has been great. I don't see how its awful at all with this many talented singers.

Anyways, America got it right tonite except for Allison being in the bottom 3 again but oh well, Lil Rounds is finally gone.

The disco medly was painful. I wish these stars would let us remember them in their glory.
Sadly, there are not that many of us that remember them in their glory... The vast majority watching tonight probably didn't recognize any of the songs, let alone have a clue who those 'foggies' were!

I think this week was the first time I've ever predicted the right bottom three and got who was leaving right! And the twofer leaving in the right order to boot! :D

Not old, just vintage.

I fast forwarded through most of it.

Yes. Thelma Houston was the only one of the three who could still sing, but she looked ridiculous. KC has completely lost his voice. It was never fabulous to begin with, and now it's atrocious. I had no idea who the first singer was and didn't remember her song.

Every band who had a top ten song from 1955 on has some bizarre conglomeration of old people touring under the band's name. In many cases, it's down to one member who played bass on the band's last studio album and four other guys. Our local village festivals pull in groups like Kansas and Herman's Hermits every year, which amazes me because I remember Kansas being one of the biggest bands on the planet when I was in middle school.

Yes, I am completely serious. Where are these "talented singers" you speak of? haha. I see a couple talented "performers" but that's about it.

Well, that's just your opinion. All of them with the possible exception of Matt are very popular with many of the other viewers.
