Syesha--nailed it.
Jason--what was he thinking singing Memory?
Brooke--I think we.....sorry, let me start over. :lookaroun I think we saw the last of her tonight.
Archie--ok, I didn't care for the arrangement and he botched the words in one spot.
Carly--good song for her voice, I just don't like the song.
Cook--best of the night.

Brilliant...and Canadian

No
Syesha was mediocre
Jason was fair but nothing great
Brooke re-started, but although not forgivable, wasn't too bad but not great
David A was struggling and seemed to be singing in the wrong key [despite the judges' effusive praise]
Carly was the performance of the night, powerful and solid, until...
David C totally dominated them all with a stellar performance.

I know it won't happen because of the teeny-bopper vote but IMO David A should go tomorrow.

Agreed, except I thought Syesha was fantastic.

For me there is almost always one magical moment a season. First season it was when Kelly sang "Stuff Like That There." Second season it was when Ruben sang "A Whole New World". Third season it was Fantasia singing "Summertime." Fourth season it was Carrie singing "Alone." Fifth season it was Taylor Hicks singin "Living Just Enough for the City." Last year there never was one, but I did like Jordin overall. This season it has to be David Cook hitting that high note in "Music of the Night." I was hooked!!!!

I couldn't have said it better. I really think that David Cook is going to win this year. I'll be real shocked if he doesn't.

I think that either Brooke or Jason will go tomorrow night.

Agreed. If David C does win it'll be the first time my favorite from Hollywood week has actually won (or even come that close). I was a big Bo Bice fan, but didn't get hooked until the top 12. My daughter picked Taylor Hicks in the early weeks even before Hollywood week, so she holds the family record

I have liked him from the start too. He just seems so down to earth and I love to hear him sing. I think that he is the most talented one left, with his voice & the way he can change a song around to fit him. He has really impressed me. I guess I should go vote.

I thought Syesha was really good-better than ever before. Carly was good, David C was GREAT, David Archuletta still makes me want to jab toothpicks in my eyes, and Brooke and Jason should both be packing their bags because whichever one doesn't go home tomorrow will go next week. I can't stand to hear Jason Castro talk. He is so dumb.

Excellent summary. I'll disagree on three points:
1. Syesha was the best of the night, and Cook was close behind.
2. Brooke ... a song about vulnerability, a false start, the backing of VFTW ... bottom 3, sure, but Jason goes home.
3. Carly sang well (and got great backing vocals from the Idol singers), but she botched the lyrics, and that drove me crazy. I love the entire JCS soundtrack, top to bottom. On the plus side, Carly's Stupid Tattoo was not out there this week!

I'd just like to say that I am madly in love with David Cook.

Yes, this is a common after effect for women when someone sings Music of the Night...

It truly is an amazing song. And from what I saw on youtube, he did a great job with it.:D I still have yet to see the others though...

I picked Carrie Underwood in the auditions.

As for this week:

Syesha did very well
Jason: eh, I still think he might go
Brooke: will probably go
David: did well
Carly: I really enjoyed her performance
David C: even though it wasn't his niche, he did extremely well. I would agree he was the best of the night, only by a small amount though. (I"m a Carly fan though)

As did I. The first night she was on, I picked her. It's in one of the AI threads here.

Bottom three: Brooke, Carly, Jason.

Going home: Jason.

Maybe America will have sympathy for Brooke. One thing I was told by a professor in college: NEVER stop in a performance. Never. Keep your rhythm going and it will come back. It works. I was shocked to see her stop like she did.
